I am getting use with the feeling of S&W 52-1 that I use in competition ( 30+30 at 25 meters) I recently I bought a S&W 952 so I ask my friend gunsmith to fit trigger and stirrup of the S&W 52 to have same distance: trigger to grip safety. The result.. a perfect clone to 52 model but in 9 mm Luger.

What's 30+30 at 25 meters? International Center Fire?
If you should find a source please post it - finding 30 luger barrels seem like an impossibility over here for any S&W, as most were sent overseas. I have one for my Colt Commander, and it is a tack driver.

When I used a 52 for International Center Fire, I used a modified Bo-Mar rear sight. It gave me a slightly longer sight picture, plus I liked the Bo-Mar rear blade. I had to use a deep center hold because the new sight would only go down so far. Bo-Mar made a rib with an extended front sight that "maybe" would have helped my slow fire scores. Someone on this forum has posted a picture of a 52 with a rib over the years, and I always thought that would have helped me.
On my first S&W 52-2 I had a Bomar rib , but I don't find any help, fist too heavy at least for me and second you need to change recoil spring in weaker if you use commercial Winchester WadCutter as I do. Here one of my target (in a good day) at 25 meters, of course one hand hold..30 shots (292) S&W 52-1.

Let me edit my above post and say, when I had the rear Bo-Mar only sight, I had to use a deep 6 o'clock hold.
I could score well in the dueling stage with the 52, with an occasional 100, but would struggle in the precision stage in the low 90's.
With a Model 14 with Morini grips, I shot the precision stage much better, with one 100 slow fire target signed by the other shooters. But, I never could duel with that revolver, so my average stayed about the same. This is back in the 90's. Back then, it was my favorite event.
