I just got one for Christmas and it's great! I shot jacketed Remington high velocity (thats all I had) and it ran flawlessly. It takes a little time to get used to assembly/disassembly but it's not a problem. i have found however, that it's not so easy to find a "red dot" sight that fits the traverse grooves in the sight rib. Buy one, and Enjoy! They are great guns

Thanks, after writing this thread I chacked around on this page about the 22A and found that eveyone who has one likes it.Guess I'll be making atrip to the gun store soon..22's are a lot cheaper than other ammo now days.

Satch, for the price you cannot beat them. I have had the 22S (same as 22A except heavier frame) for four years and it has been a great, troublefree plinker.

If you're looking for a red dot sight the Tasco Accudot works pretty good. I've been happy with mine.

I just took my out to the range today. I added a BSA 30mm red dot scope on it this afternoon. I was putting rounds inside of a quarter at 20 feet and inside of a mason jar lid at 50 feet. For the money it is great!!

I have one of these. It has been wonderfully reliable and accurate. All I do is clean the chamber every so often and shoot, shoot, shoot.

I know this is an old thread, but I had to share a pic of my 22A. I had an old ambient light red dot sight that I mounted on it. It works great, although it looks like a space gun. I have a Ruger MK I and a High Standard Citation with the same bull barrels. I love them all. I especially love the huge grips on this 22A. The trigger could use some work (nothing like the others), but it's a great shooter regardless.

I love the look of that scope.
Can it be fired without the gun under it ? perhaps set on stun ?
what is the make/model of the scope ?

Yeah it's funky looking for sure. I got it from my dad years ago and I believe he said it was a shotgun scope. I believe it is a weaver, but I could be wrong. It does work great in the daytime though. I used to shoot steel knockdown targets with it. It would be nice to update it with a newer one.

The wife and I have had an M22a with the 5-1/2" barrel for about a year and a half. Put at least 200 rounds through it every month at the range and so far, no problems and has taken any type of CCI ammunition we've put in it.
