S&W not happy with aftermarket

Personally I think the M&P platform is fine just the way it is. Other than changing sights to fit your preference/failing eyes, I don't see the need for any modifications. I think the primary purpose of most aftermarket products is to get you to open your wallet. Unless you are competing at a very high level, is there really a need for a trigger job?

Yes. There is a need for a trigger job. My first M&P had a marginal trigger and the second was worse. $90 Apex kit and 30 minutes later and the difference is night and day.

OH come now 13 let's be honest here:

Sig ever fix the crappy rails on their guns? I had a P226 where the rails fell off, hope they improved the guns since then."

Posted in the SIG forum you did, got spanked by LDD and a few others.
I'd like to see pics of this railess SIG, I know full well that the mud rail pieces were problems but SIG fixed em.
By the way welcome to the SIG forum!

My bad, I posted in the wrong section, seems they can't stand criticism over their guns there

At least you don't deny rails fell off, good on ya.;)

Merry Christmas :)

and the reason for your being a member and reader of an M&P forum is.................? just askin'

Because I own an M&P that I got real cheap and used this forum to help upgrade it. I'm also an avid 3rd Gen fan and have two 357 magnums from the 70's that will be pried from my cold, dead hands.

I wasn't aware I needed to individually join each sub-forum on the website.

Well Dan,YOU come on here and call ladder13 a TROLL? If we took a poll asking the membership who the troll is between HIM and YOU,I'm afraid that you would find yourself back under the bridge in very short order. Just sayin'.

You can say what you want. You can look at ladder13's post on Sigforum which was entirely a troll post, or you can look at mine that actually has pertinent comments from one of the companies involved in this.

There's more than enough criticism about Sigs at that site. What isn't tolerated is a troll like you comes over to just badmouth Sigs because you're butthurt people badmouthed S&W over a decision so stupid that they've posted an apology over this (along with the paralegal that wrote the lawsuit that can't figure out how to use a spellchecker or demand an answer no later than January 5 of this year).

Which is why you were fed (and quite rightly) this:

As if this sort of low level over-zealousness and thought process of " ... let's do something now, without checking with anyone up-levels ..." doesn't occur in any other organization.

Sounds like corporate belatedly discovered something messy that ought not to have happened, but stepped up and took company responsibility for it anyway, publicly and personally apologized, and has apparently taken steps to prevent a recurrence. :o

Humiliating to a degree, but classy.

S&W has publicly apologized, and that apology has apparently been accepted by the companies that got the letter. This is a minor blip on the radar, and we can all move on to the 2016 new models, including the unveiling of the next gen M&P model for the military XM17 trials, and the FBI pistol trial offering.

...of which I'm very interested in seeing. One of the reasons I have an M&P as my "house gun" is that the damn thing is sooo comfy compared to everything else on the market (gets close with a VP9, but for an extra $350 over what I bought my M&P for, it better). I'd love to see a better trigger and better accuracy.

I hope the irony of S&W grumbling about other companies "infringing" on this and that hasn't been lost on everyone - after all, the only gun more similar in design to a Glock than an M&P is... another Glock;)

To be sure, we - as consumers - benefit, I myself own several of each (since together they make the perfect handgun :)), but I doubt I'd be able to retain the sense of humor about that if I were a Glock exec.
