In July I purchased a used Model 669 9mm pistol. When I got it home I realized that I could not decock it. Sent it to S&W for repair. They replied in August it would cost $148.00, so I mailed the check. Got the gun back today and it works perfectly. I'm very pleased with their service.

I have had good luck with the also,
but I have only used them on guns I purchased new.

Who paid for yours to be shipped to and from the factory ?

They paid shipping to them because there was some type of recall on this gun, however, after they checked the gun out apparently they decided that some unknown person in the past messed with the gun, so they charged me for the repair and return shipping.

I've had pretty good experience, even through this virus mess.

I sent a 351C back to them in mid July because two of the chambers wouldn't eject empty casings. I figured that they'd just ream them out or maybe replace the cylinder.

Nope, they determined that it was "unrepairable" and will send me a replacement. That was July 30 and I heard no further until today.

I had a short hold because everyone was busy. When I was connect to the nice young lady in CS, she looked into their computer and told me that the 351C is on back order and they will ship as soon as a batch is produced. She suggested that I call back in two weeks if I don't hear from them.

Dang virus is really slowing everything down. Plus, they are selling a lot of guns and the usual percentage have to go back.

Gary,

I had a similar experience with an unrepairable gun that was long out of production. The substitute gun was OOS and the model was in line for future production. When the gun finally arrived, it had actually been produced just days before.

I've had guns that required multiple trips "home" but, they've always gone out of their way to satisfy me. :)

I picked up a 5926 last year that I sent back to them for recall work and I never paid a dime for it. Might have the opportunity to pick up a 1076 soon that I hope to be able to do the same for if necessary.
