S&W warranty and obsolete parts

So I have this Sw99 with a broken recoil rod/spring assembly,that I have contacted smith customer support about and they put in a order over a month ago with no response. This gun is discontinued with no hope of them having replacement parts. What good is my warranty now? I'm just curious if any one has run into this situation and was the outcome?

There are long wait times for most S&W parts, so I wouldn't totally abandon hope. It's worse for 3rd generation owners. As production catches up for new production hopefully the parts supply will increase.
 
only a month ago........don't worry....but you got to go to the back of the line:rolleyes:
 
Are you sure they are not simply out of stock? I think S&W continues to provide parts for several years after a model is discontinued, so they may just be waiting on the part from a supplier. They would tell you if they were no longer providing parts for your model.
