SAN JOSE ORDINANCE PASSED

I strongly suspect this will be considered to be more or less like a poll tax. You can not tax constitutional rights. Hopefully. There is an anti-gun law firm represented the city for free on the soon-to-come legal fight, though the city will still (presumably) be on the hook for the plaintiff's legal costs when / if they lose.

Cry havoc and let loose the dogs of law suits!
Yep, I see legal action and the likelihood this will be overturned.

Every CCW license fee is similar to a poll tax.

“… the right of the of the people to own and bear Arms shall not be infringed.”

How the heck does a tax, aka fee, not infringe on the right to bear Arms?

Wow... biggest load of nonsense I've seen in a long time.

They cite a bunch of statistics about gun deaths, but fail to say how this measure is going to do anything to reduce/affect them.

Clearly just a means to throw up a barrier for gun owners and potential gun owners in San Jose to exercise their 2A rights. This definitely needs to be challenged in the courts, if left to stand, it will establish a precedent for other municipalities to follow... and you dang well know that it's being watched to see if it sticks.

Barrier = infringement.
