Scored a 3913NL

[That One Guy]

So I was very fortunate this weekend and managed to pick up a 3913NL at a local gun show. I've wanted one of these as long as I can remember, so I'm pretty stoked. The guy claimed to be the original owner and had the box, paperwork and two magazines. It's in excellent shape, doesn't appear to have been fired or carried very much. Only a couple of small scratches, which I don't care about since it will definitely be used. Managed to get it for $475 out the door which made me super happy.

I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but will be giving it a work out in the next week or 2. I'll put 200-300 rounds through it, clean it up and put it into rotation with my other 3913 and LCP. I may eventually give it to my fiancé once she gets her CCW. Or if I'm smart, I'll find her a 3913LS and keep this one for myself.

Also, can anyone give me a rough idea of when this gun was manufactured? It's a VJA sn#.

3rd Edition shows 1998 and/or later.
last entry in 3rd Ed shows VHx as 1998.
4th Ed might have more info.

Check out Hogue's checkered Wood grips for the 3913/14 add a lot of pzazz........ same feel/size as the Hogue "rubbers" you have on the 3913

Congrats on a great grab!! My LGS was a prominent S&W 3rd gen dealer "in the day". As we discussed my passion for the 3rd gens, he asked that I wait a minute...disappeared into the back...and returned with a LNIB 3913NL that he had tucked away. Still has the inspection sticker on it. He "gave" it to me at a very very reasonable price!!

congrats....I also have a VJA prefix serial# 3913NL but can't help you with a born on date....I do know mine was shipped to Israel when it left the mothership before being repatriated..
