Scored a nice 10-5 Snub

Been hooked on the M10 lately. Love the 3" but found a 2" snubby I just had to have. Clean with a nice little round butt, she just needed those rubber grips removed. Dates to 1973-74. Serial # D512xxx if anyone has any further info.

No, definitely looks all original. A photographer I'm not that's for sure. Wish I was though. Some put up such nice pictures. I'm just using an iPhone on the kitchen table after a quick wipe down.

Short of waxing a gun, what do you guys like for wiping down a blued gun that doesn't leave it all swirled looking??

Those "rubber grips" are uncle mikes combat grips. Very desirable to someone trying to find factory grips from the mid to late 90s. They sell sometimes as much as the wooden ones

^^^most of what he said. Can't comment on their value, but with all the RB K and L frames produced now, very desirable for shooting and especially carry.

Years ago a gun shop I still stop in at from time to time had a new 3 inch model 10 with a pair of semi target round butt grips for like 159 they could never sell it . I think no one wanted it . I love the model 10.

Very nice find OP, love those K frame snubbies. What I have been using lately for cleaning and just wiping down is equal parts of Kerosene, Mineral Spirits, and Dexron III transmission fluid mixed up in a fancy Mason jar. Works for me.

The model 10 snub is a great looking and handling gun to me. I just purchased a 10-7 pinned barrel example at a local pawn shop. I looked at it several times and finally pulled the trigger.....lol. I couldn't help myself.

Anyone ever notice how an older snub like poster Buick's looks more 'carry-able' than it's modern K-frame siblings? The external surfaces seem almost melted together, no sharp edges except the hammer spur. On first glance (and second), it appears smaller. A good gun to carry IWB, even in the appendix position. I love it.

So guys, what were the original grips? The Uncle Mikes look great after going through the dishwasher. I assume someone put them on after the fact??
I have a few sets of these "rubbers". Not worth much to me unless their original.

Agreed...Even my slightly bulkier Model 15 is right at home on my hip as my daily carry, and is barely noticeable to me......Ben

It would have had wood Magna stocks of the same style as the wood stocks in your first set of photos, except older (solid wood, not laminate).
