Hi Folks,
I have 4 bricks of RWS Target rifle (.22LR) that I don't use anymore.
I recently sold off some of my bulls eye pistols. This ammo was designated for one of them.
I was thinking about selling it, but I get confused when I start researching shipping.
Does anyone know of an easy way to ship ammo?
Is ORM-D or Other Regulated Materials - Domestic still work?
The UPS hazardous material guide has got me so confused I might burn it up on cans out of the kit gun and save myself a prison sentence for not being able to understand.
If any one knows an easy way to ship and can pass it on I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Mike

I ship mine UPS and let them deal with it. However, I'm not shipping to IL ever, not dealing with all of their crappola.

Good point

Hi S.R.,
Good point. If I advertise it, there are places I should declare I wont sell to. One of them right across the river.
Thanks for the reminder.
Do you take yours boxed up and go to the UPS store, tell em' what is and they do it?
Thanks
Mike

I agree, I'd stay out of CA, NJ, NY, IL and any others you are concerned about, especially IL and their fraud/rip-off card.

Take it to UPS, let them box it, pay the couple of bucks extra so you can say they packed, UPS knew what it was. Then you have I'm not a postal mogul, I trusted the experts to do it right defense if needed. JMO.

Pack it well, run off a ORM D tag, cover it with clear tape and secure it well, take it to UPS and ship it off.

Make sure you pack it tight, and tape the whee out of the box seams.

If you declare the contents of your package, do not attempt to ship it through a local 'Mom and Pop' shipping emporium. I believe UPS regs will not allow the local stores to accept ammunition or firearms. I just read that somewhere.

You'll generally need to ship it through a UPS service center, the "UPS Store" locations won't take it.

Thanks

Hi Folks,
Thanks for the help.
I read somewhere that the ORM-D is no longer used, but everything I read is not always true nor do I always read everything as it is written.
I have a UPS center not too far from me.
I'll give it a try.
Thanks everyone!
Mike

I just shipped some with the usual 'ORM-D / Small Arms Cartridges' sticker on it.

If they use something different today,,they'll have it at the counter and will put one on the box for you.

I've made my ORM labels on the computer and just sealed them under the tape. As long as it says : ORM-D and it states 'small arms ammunition' you'll be good to go.
I don't believe that UPS keeps the labels laying around - our local one does not!

I have lived mostly in rural areas far removed from UPS facilities. Once I had many cases of 7.62mm which I sold for school. UPS came by the house and picked up the shipments. There was never a problem. Just make sure to follow the directions at the web-site as to type of box used, size, weight, labeling, etc. HTH. Sincerely. brucev.

It is gone

Hi everyone,
It is gone. Everyone had good info and it was a piece of cake.
They would have come here to pick it up but I took it to a UPS Customer Center.
Well boxed and taped the wee out of it (Thanks Fnnxtime).
I had the ORM-D on it but did not mark it small arms ammo. They said I did not need to do that.
Dropped it off, insured it, and was gone in about five minutes.
Nothing scary as I had imagined.
Thanks again everybody.
Mike
