This scares the heck out of me. I drop my 5 year old son off at Kindergarten everyday, and have a license to carry, but the "law" states no firearms on school property.

Gunman a 20 year old or 20 something allegedly had a connection to the school.
Close to 30 killed, 18-20 were children.
Shooters name Ryan Lanza.

Actually, it does make sense. We live in a country that was founded on decency and a belief in God (the real one). In the past few decades our nation has turned from its roots and has embraced every form of depraved behavior. Many kids are raised without moral values and the respect for life that previous generations had. They see violence glorified from the time they are old enough to sit in front of a TV or computer screen. Often times they come from a lousy home life with parents either absent or abusive. It is easy to see how the monsters perpetrating these horrible crimes are created.
Often, in the end, some psychobabble spouting "professional" prescribes the small percentage that become the monsters of such a society with mind altering drugs. Research how many mass shooting perps quit taking their meds before the massacre...
Through it all, our liberal "leaders" keep pushing for more in the name of "personal freedoms". Many of these same people have the ultimate agenda of stripping all of our Constitutional rights. They believe that no crisis should go to waste and can be expected to use the products of their destructive policies (mass shootings, in this case) to further their agenda. It'll all be funded off the backs of the people who actually work for a living and pay the taxes.
My prayers go out to those who lost innocent family members in this tragic event. May God comfort them. What a waste.

Our society is in sad shape.....prayers for these familes that are suffering what no one should have suffer. I believe we need teachers trained in the use of weapons or ex military that would be willing to help protect our schools. I would feel better knowing that a teacher had the ability to protect the children in their care...we can not detect what is in someones mind...but we have the ability to end their killing spree. This should not happen in America....when I went to school...there things were unheard of....where have we gone wrong? What is our country coming to?? What do we need to do to stop this? Where will it end? Passing more laws will not stop this behavior......I hate the thought that we need armed intervention in our schools....but what can prevent or stop this.....only thing I can think of is to be able to end the mad mans life as quickly as possible.

I know its already come out that Obama will speak this afternoon and one report on Fox is that he was asked about assault weapons legislation, and his answer was that the issue is likely to come up. My God they can't even wait until the end of the day before they start thinking of legislation.
I know they apparently found the mother of the shooter (I refuse to mention this ***'s name) dead in a home nearby. Soon as the .223 rifle was mentioned a few reporters got the hot and sweaties asking about assault weapons and how many rounds can it hold. Personally any low life that can kill a kindergarten age child can't find a warm enough spot in hell for my liking.

It's as if as a society we are losing our soul. We haven't had these type of things happen en masse like we have recently. Guns have been with us for well over a hundred years but these type of people haven't. It is said the smartest thing the devil did was convince us he doesn't exist. Well, he does, and as a society we have ignored him far too long. I'll be praying for the families of those children and adults who have been victims of this evil. God help us all.
Many schools already have metal detectors and armed Resource Officers. Evert school here has a Sheriffs Deputy.
What I find amazing is that when we (older folks) went to school guns of all kinds existed. Semi Autos were avaliable, Shotguns everywhere, maybe not the high cap handguns but lots of Military rifles. What is different now other than people are crazy??
The hell with the gun bans and political legislation you can not stop that, think more of these people and children.

Exactly how I feel...our first thought shouldn't be there are coming after our guns...these are little children...same age as I have...My wife called me from work crying. As I watched the news, I also cried.

I was in the barbershop this afternoon and the national CBS newsfeed was running. I never watch news and I read almost none; consuming news makes me dumber so I have given it up. This afternoon I was reminded why.
The mindless babbling fool masquerading as a legitimate journalist was describing the scene around him. He said that he saw one parent whose kid had seen his teacher get shot and that he asked the parent "How's your kid doing?"
Unbelievable. How do you THINK the kid is doing, moron? How do you think ANY of them are doing? That you would even ask such a question is a testament to your vacuous soul and your vapid intellect, both gainfully employed in the pursuit of noninformation.

What a shame, who could even imagine such a thing?
Yet the news seems to almost be bragging that this is the second worst school shooting, it seems if it was the worst they would be happier.
News stories are all over the map who knows the truth.
As far as gun bans, in CT we already have an assault weapons ban, just like the expired federal one, but without magazine limits.
Lets mourn the loss then let the facts come out.

I do implore everyone here that carries to carry something bigger than your j-frames (preferably with a lot more rounds) this time of year. Senseless acts of violent are becoming more and more commonplace...and during the holidays many people become very despondent. I am at my little girl's school quite often and if we had an active shooter, I'd hate to be caught with my DS or 442. I'm gonna start wearing my 14 shot P2000 with an extra mag on my ankle. I know even that is no match for someone or someones with an assault rifle, but where children are involved, I am going to engage even if it's almost certain suicide.
Prayers for all those involved and I hope the "tolerance" and "diversity" and "political correctness" that allows this type of action goes the way of the Do-Do bird. It is time for people to wake up. I remember an old saying........."Stand together or fall apart." This sure does not seem like the best way to have new angels in Heaven.
