My ex has been bugging me lately to teach her how to shoot so I called her yesterday morning and said "Let's go shooting." and I think she ran every stoplight on the way here because she never got home that fast in the eight years we were together. I went over a few things with her then packed my SW9VE, Taurus PT709 and 4 boxes of ammo into my range bag and off we went. The first thing she noticed when we got to the range was the hostage targets because the perp is the spittin image of her first husband so the first words out of her mouth were "Get me one of those Bob targets." She was a little nervous and was over gripping so her arms got tired fast but she actually shot quite well with both guns. She didn't go beyond 10 yards being a first timer but almost all her shots were on paper and her groupings were better than I expected and most importantly she didn't shoot me. She listened to every safety tip I gave her as well as used common sense and handled the guns in a professional manner. It turned out to be a good range trip and I even had a good time doing that with her. Just don't tell her I said that.

Now that's funny. Seriously though we still get along....But....ever since she went to Peurto Rico on a business trip and came back pregnant it is no longer possible for me to have any type of romantic feeling towards her. But it's all cool.

I can see that putting a serious damper on a relationship. You're a strong man to be holding a loaded gun with her and....well you get the idea.
Life's too short to hold grudges and I don't have any bad feelings against her. I just don't love her that way anymore.
It wouldn't mean anything if it was her past before me but it's our past and quite recent since she just had the baby two months ago. I can't say I don't hold it against her, after all it's the reason we're not together anymore. I just don't feel a need to hate her and as far as trusting her with a loaded weapon, that's not a problem and since she has a new found interest in firearms I don't mind teaching her how to be safe.
You got to admit, though, to some of us it's going to register real high o our weird stuffometer.

The baby is 2 months old? So all this is lately. Are you sure the baby is hers? Seriously, thats a lot to forgive. I know I couldnt, but if someone else can, thats their business. I do know I would go to jail first before I paid a nickle of support or alimony.

I never said I forgive her but I don't wish her any harm. She wants me to be an influence in her baby's life and I can't bring myself to do that and I don't pay her anything but I can't completely turn my back on her as a human being. That's just not who I am.

Wow...., you are a bigger man than me. My only heartburn in this type of situation is the total lack of respect for ones self and the other people in the "relationship". But, I wasn't there. I'm sure most of us have made choices we regret or would have changed if we had the chance. As long as a serious life-lesson was learned, not all was lost or in vain. Take it as it comes and go the way you want to go.....life is too short to do otherwise. Just my opinion.........Sprefix
