Depends on what YOU want to do with it. I would put it in a safe or storage area and it would never be fired.

I have maybe 30 guns that I bought over the years that has never been fired and just dusted off each yr or so.

Carry the gun that you do trust, do not mind getting idiot marks on, can be replaced if need be and you are accustomed to shooting. I would never suggest someone carry a gun they are not intimately well known with. All guns go bang. Not all work the same and a carry gun must be comfortable, accurate and dependable from use over time. A new gun does not meet that list anywhere.

I'd shoot it. In time it might become a carry gun depending on its performance.

I've never bought a gun that I haven't fired. Just like I've never bought a truck I haven't driven.

You bought it. You liked it. You carry it! It's not a collector piece, particularly, but a really great performer... even if it isn't .45acp!

thanks for the responses

I have decided to carry it. took it to the range, great gun and great shooter. thanks for the tips!

I faced a similar decision a year ago but then I read the advice that eventually you're going to die and then someone else will get the gun and he or she will be shooting/carrying it. That cinched it for me.

looks awesome.... I carry my FS M&P 9 and my FS GLOCK 17.
both conceal well with the Crossbreed Supertuck.
obviously a personal choice. pratice and be safe.. enjoy!

Same here. In fact, whenever I buy a gun I put a few rounds through it at the next available opportunity.

That's not to say I have anything against those who collect guns for other reasons. If someone gets pleasure from simply owning a particularly well-made or rare firearm, more power to 'em. In fact I envy them...they don't have to spend as much time cleaning. ;)

It's your gun, so as you like with it. However, I'll never understand the point of purchasing a gun and not using it. IMO you would see a better return on your money if you put gold coins into your safe.
