Shutdown the NFL

Professional sports in general is a problem, or rather how we worship the whole industry. The money involved. We've slowly allowed money to corrupt amateur sports, college level and the Olympics. Be it drugs, or violence, every week somebody is getting away with something that would land you or I misdemeanor or felony level charges, because they are a superstar. Their league "handles" it and they get a little slap on the wrist. A player who makes $75,000 (or absurdly more) a game gets fined $10,000, oh the pain and suffering.
I am as guilty as the next average Joe because I like paying attention. While doing so, I feel the whole entire industry has, like most everything in this country, become something it wasn't supposed to be about.

My first question is why does anyone watch an NFL game if they are so totally disgusted with the league and it's players? Just find another pastime and it will disappear on it's own. Or is it just one of those things we just love to hate?

Celebrity thugs and trashy women are the new American role models. If everybody stopped watching the **** the money for it would dry up. But lets be real, that won't happen. Our values have been sufficiently degraded that it is the new norm.

Most of them are good people, but none are worth millions of dollars contracts. Whatever happened to playing the game because they loved it, like long ago? Money to be made by agents and others, that's what. I know it's a short career, and very popular in the US, but gee, it's not about the game anymore.
