Single Serve Coffee Machines - Keurig?

I love my Keurig, but as stated, it works out to 40-50 cents per cup, depending on where you buy and the quantity. In our case, we probably save money in the long run by not throwing away half full pots we never drank.

I grew up on STRONG dark roast coffee and chickory dripped in those porcelin pots.
I use a french press with CDM dark roast coffee and chickory. It's an 8 cup model which translated into two caje sized servings ;)
Best coffee I've ever has-even better than the drip. I find that if you pour and press you get much better flavor (way less bitter) than letting it sit before you press. ALso let the tea kettle sit for about 30 seconds before pouring. Apparantly hotter (read 212) water or letting it sit for a whoie releases a lot of the bitter flavor. The instructions say to use 180 degree water-I figure that letting the kettle sit for a bit after it whistles lets the temperature drop enough. It apparantly hit the sweet spot because I get two cups of wonderful coffee. Also instead of using 6 scoops-I dropped it down to 5 with no loss of flavor.
Plus-it tastes great even when re heated in the microwave

Why?
We buy Instant Coffee
Put sweetner in the cup
Add the desired amount of coffee
Add water
Press the "beverage" setting on the microwave
Stir the coffee when it comes out

This is sad, very sad!;) We are talking coffee here not whatever Instant is classified as.

You can still use the microwave but use real coffee instead. Something like this. Nuke your water and pour it through the stainer.
