I got a new CDNN catalog today and they have used 4566 (police trade-ins) for $389.99 with night sights (they're past dim I'm sure) bobbed hammers and one mag. Unknown what grips. Some have factory - some have Hogues. Additional used mags are $19.99 each or $29.99 for new ones. The guy on the phone didn't know if they had red, yellow or black followers.

So after it's all said and done, one would run me...$389.99 for the pistol...$39.98 for two used mags (or $59.98 for two new ones)... $14.99 for shipping plus $20 to my FFL for the transfer.

Grand total = 464.96 (or $484.96 for two new mags)

Whaddaya think...good deal or not?

Good Deal

If I didn't have one already with about 10 extra mags I would be on that like white on rice. I guess its a moot point, but I know guys who paid a lot more for a .45 and got a lot less.

It sound like a good deal. I'm sure you could find just the 4566 and a single mag for the same price. For what its worth, I bought a 4006 from them a little over a year and a half ago, it needed a good cleaning, but as long as you get the top quality they have it is worth the money.

4566

I got a 4566 In February for $394 at a gun show. Came with 3 mags, no shipping, but did have the tax. Total was $416. since then I have found them in several places on the internet and all have been in the same price range of $385 to $440.
The dealer was out of Richmond, and they had about 10 at the time. They had no website, but if interested, pm me and I will dig up and send you their phone number.
Someone on this, and a couple of other forums had 10 of the 4566's the same week, at $379 I think and they sold in one day.

Not a bad deal.

IMO the best deal on a 4566 is here in the classifieds. Scotter260 has a Melonite 4566 for under $600.

If I had the cash I'd own it......and have two of them. Regards 18DAI.

I picked one up off this forum last month. A police trade in that cleaned up exceptionally well. I'm very happy with it. It's my 4th, 3rd Gen S&W .45 and I've loved them all.

I bought two of the above-mentioned guns from twogunjay. They also cleaned right up.

I paid $449 for my 4566 this past January from J&G Sales. However, mine is a VG+ condition. Night sights were dim. I upgraded with XS Big Dots. (Their 4506 sights fit the 4566). J&G didn't have any spare mags though.

However, I've recently learned that Chestnut Ridge Supply has more than a few 4566's as well as 4566 TSW's available in good condition up to very good condition, starting at $349.

PS. Please remember, if you don't mind not having the gun for a while, you can remove the existing night sights and send them back to Trigicon(?) for recharging. (I'm told $40.00 plus shipping.)

I also ordered a 4566 (it should be in next week). What kind of shape was yours in? Any pics?

Best,

Jerry

Got the 4566 on Sat.Looks like it is in very good cond.A few holster marks and thats it.Has the plastic grips (suck) on it,but thats an easy swap. The sights are about gone.I emailed Trijicon about a re-do on them but have not heard back. The mags have the rectangle stamp by the feed lips and black followers. My first .45 ,so Im itchin to go and light off some rounds.I will post when I get back from doing so.Might be a week .So far Im happy.
