We just hit ZERO for the first time this winter.
Overnight low is expected to get down to -9 tonight.
Too cold for my taste, but thankfully it won't last long - never does.
We're expecting to be back above freezing temps again by Saturday.

Cold and Dangerous

Not sure just how cold it is right now. (11.30 PM MST) But there might be a well digger's bucket involved. We are on the very West edge of the big cold front. Might have a day and a half of crappy weather then back into the low to mid 20s. Roads are ****. On a sad side note, on the far East side of my county (Sweetwater) A semi ran over an ambulance at the scene of another accident. One family will spend the weekend at the hospital another will be making funeral plans. Do not let anyone ever tell you being a EMT is a safe and easy job. Prayers.

Yesterday's forecast of "no accumulation" became a horizontal blizzard that dropped 3".

I've not yet heard dawn's crack. Every star is glimmering against the clear sky.

I shouldn't say this, but the air is dead still. We don't usually use the "W" word 'cause that makes bad things happen.

Here in West Tennessee we've had mild winters for the last several years. For the last couple of weeks highs have run in the mid-50s to mid-60s range. Right now at 10:00am its 46 degrees out side. Not bad at all really.
However, that Arctic Air Mess is due in this afternoon. Starting around 4:00pm the temps are expected to drop like a rock with a chance of light snow. Predicted low tonight of 5 degrees and tomorrow's high at 17. Temps not expected to be above freezing until about Monday.
I know that ain't too bad for you Yankees, but for us Southern folks that's DAMNED COLD!
