So This 520 Walked Right Up To Me Yesterday...

I have a NIB 520. I have no intention of shooting it. To me, shooting my 4" model 28 would have to be exactly the same, so why not save the 520 for a big payday? There is no way I would let it go for for $1k, even though I paid a lot less for it.I would sell it, but only for the right price. In a market where 547's go routinely for two grand (about 10k made) and 686, CS-1's ( who knows how many are really out there) go for stupid money, the original 520 with a known production run of 3000 should be worth way more. I encourage all of you who own one to shoot it.

520 mistake

Maybe 10 years or so ago a guy had a 520 at a local gun show for sale.

If I remember correctly he wanted maybe 300-400 for it. He didn't know what a rare revolver he had. Good shape, no box. I knew it was a collectible revolver but I had something else on my mind I wanted to buy that day and limited cash so I passed!

I kick myself for not buying that revolver on the spot every time I read a thread like this.

And I always wonder who was smart enough to jump on such a great deal that I wasn't bright enough to take advantage of. Or did he maybe take it home unsold? I kinda doubt it.

I'll bet there isn't one of us who hasn't passed up a good buy & later regretted it? I know I have!

Hell, I bought one for $425, way back in 1998 LNIB. I never shot it, because I had a 4" model 28-2. It wasn't until around 2010 that I realized, I had something really special.
It may someday get sold for, school tuition. till then it'll just collect dust in the back of the safe.
