Never ordered from there and decided to give it a shot....I placed an order on the first and it's still not shipped.

Really? I've order from quite a few online stores and even Ebay and the most I've seen is a two day delay between purchase and shipping,in general most places I've dealt with the thing would be out yesterday, hell I ordered a pair of surplus boots off Midway USA the same night and it's well on it's way to me.

Good gawd man,I've even bought off of an Ebay store in Japan and had my items shipped in two days!

I just cancelled it-screw it I can get it faster somewhere else,I requested free shipping so maybe that was it?

Non free shipping was a bit ridiculous I'll say.

Sorry about your bad luck but I'm a big Amazon fan. Most items I order get to me in two days on the Prime account and the tv and music are a bonus.

Just wish I'd bought more than 100 shares of their stock back in the dot com boom but if I had so much money might have made me plumb sorry. :D

Amazon prime is worth the money if you use them regularly, if only for the free shipping. I get various stuff from Amazon all the time and with few exceptions, I get it 2 or3 business days. Some stuff comes straight from China or oddball vendors and can take awhile. Always check for other sources when you run into those. Often the same item is available from other more local suppliers and many times you have to do a little searching for it. Often the same items are not listed under the same name or description.

This thing was from Seattle,WA.....like I said I've ordered from Japan on Ebay and the stuff was going out by ETS I think it is in two days.

My boots from Midway has been in the mail since Fri,it'll be here midweek.

I don't have to pay for any of those to get nice shipping.

Never had a problem!
If you are in a hurry, pay for fast shipping.
If your not in a hurry, get free or cheapest shipping.

I too am a big fan of Amazon, I have the Prime so I get lots of free streaming video, and use it a lot. I can't stand regular tv anymore. Also, I get free shipping on everything. I'm thinking of ordering toilet paper and that kind of stuff just to see how it would play out. With no shipping it might be cheaper than driving to Wally World. I buy a lot of books also, and like hardbacks, and most of the ones I like are out of print. I order those that also qualify for the free shipping. Have got many gun and military volumes this way. Have never had a problem with shipping.

Well, back to "Dick Tracy's Dilemma", 1938, I think, watching it on Amazon on the iPad that I'm posting this on.

Best Regards, Les

Yes, the free shipping usually averaged 8 to 10 days to arrive. It's quite a bit faster with Amazon Prime. I placed an order Friday, and it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow, Sunday. It's weird to see a USPS truck pull into the driveway on a Sunday, but they've done it before.

Amazon has become something like an online shopping mall where much of the more specialized stuff is handled by third party shops hosted by Amazon.
To be fair, I have only encountered one such shop that sucked.

Use them all the time, very happy with the cost,& shipping time. I've had stuff show up next day.

There is no such thing as "free" shipping. It is built into the price and or shipping service.

Free from Amazon does take a week or so. They want you to pay for Prime and become part of the "club"

Remember when items over $25 were "free", now it's higher.

Remember when items over $25 were "free", now it's higher.

And then they added most of the cheap fillers as Add-On Only items meaning they don't count towards the limit, now $49!. There's a way around that though, if you add items that are out of stock (usually ships in 1-2 month type) or pre-orders and then cancel the other items AFTER your add-on or under $49 item ships you still get it shipped free... ;)

We've got Amazon Prime.

A few years ago Amazon had the best delivered prices, and that was without Prime. That has slowly changed. Now I can usually find a lower delivered priced elsewhere. The exception to this is AmazonBasics. I've bought some iPhone charge cables and other small things that were quite good quality with remarkably good prices.

I noticed that Amazon has gimmick pricing called "Add-on". They display an attractive price on something but.... Free shipping for Prime members when buying this Add-on Item. Which means you need an order totaling $25 to get free shipping with Prime. So you're right back to a minimum purchase scheme to get free shipping which you just paid $99 for a Prime account to avoid.

We have prime. Not many know it, but you can share prime with other people, up to a limit of 4 (I think). So my prime account covers myself, my daughter, son and daughter-in-law. Prime also allows access to movies and shows if you have a smart TV.

I have never had a problem with an Amazon product that wasn't resolved quickly and to my satisfaction. And they are great for buying presents, as I can order and have it shipped directly to the recipient.

Well I ain't paying $99 a year for something I get elsewhere for nothing, seriously I haven't had much if any problems with the Ebay stores and shipping is anywhere from free to very low (I ordered some coast guard ration bars and shipping was like three bucks and I got it in about five days)

Amazon sound's like a racket in my book,I dunna care how much free **** you give me it's still ****....

I don't need videos,I have Netflix for that.

And my other online stores are just as fast,I may pay a bit for shipping there but that's okay.

Right. Free shipping or not, it's the delivered price that counts.

That said, Amazon well serves those who might not be comfortable purchasing from a variety of online websites for lower delivered prices. So in that regard Amazon's "free shipping" is a good hook.

The cost of Prime is the same as a basic Netflix membership. The expedited shipping pays for itself in about 3-4 months in the PatriotX household.

The free shipping may take a bit longer, but they have a great return policy - unlike many retailers or eBayers
