so i didn't carry for a while due to medical reasons and i had sold my 442 well i got ahold of another no lock 442 and started carrying again yesterday owb in a leather tagua holster. Its comfortable but today my hip and but were sore. I was carrying at 4 o clock. Is this normal the first few days until i get use to it? I didn't have this problem a few years ago but then again i don't remember if i was sore or not.

Move it. Probably closer to 3:00 (am or pm; your choice). I'm pretty sure that if you keep carrying it in the same place, it will be even worse the nexr day.

ill try 3 o clock today i think I'm just use to 4 o clock with my other firearms. maybe a different holster might work.

I am with the others...move it to 3:00 - 3:30. Give a try if that does not work for you a J frame carries well in the Mexican or Apendix carry position.

I injured my lower back many years ago. I had been carrying OWB at the 4 o'clock also. But now that I am older my lower back starts to hurt on that side after a while. Now I carry the 642 in a Galco classic lite shoulder holster. I live in south Florida where bulky shirts are the norm especially in summer so shoulder holster carry fits right in.

before picking up another 442 i tried a cheap nylon shoulder rig for my glock 23 and it was terrible the buckles dug in and it moved all over. I'm sure a nice galco classic would work better especially with a light j frame. Im open to any method of carry i do pocket carry but mostly in summer but i have inhalers and junk that need to go in my pockets so i don't always have room.

I have an old mika pocket holster I'll send you if I can find it. PM your info.

Some meds can make you bruise easily, which is to say that capillaries burst. I wonder if a higher riding holster would be better, especially if you have a stout belt to take the weight and what little poking by the barrel there would be.
