Source for .38 200gn

Does anybody know a source for 200gn .38 Special LSWC bullets?

I believe Magnus makes some- at least they made 200grn. round nose "super police" style bullets...don't remember looking for LSWC in that weight.
Also try Tennessee Valley Bullets- Jessie's stuff is top notch.

They are about as much money as 240gr 44 caliber XTPs though. This load is in magnum cases with a healthy charge of 2400 under them. I really need to shoot them.

I wonder what the velocity will be from a Marlin 1894 with a 20" barrel. I'll bet they are a handful in my M586!

I just received some 200 grain lead round nose bullets for .38 loadings. While not LSWC like the original poster requested I thought that they were relevant and wanted to share this info.

There is a new shop in my town, Alpha Bravo Mfg., LLC. The owner, John, has allowed me to post his information as I had asked him for purposes just like these. The bullets are cast on-site.

The 200 grain bullets are going to be used to replicate the "super police" load that is often discussed in .38 threads.

Here's where I buy mine Lyman #358430 200 gr. The owner/operator is a little slow in getting the bullets shipped, but they are a good product and well worth the price.

I know you are looking for a SWC and these are RN, but I have never seen or heard mention of a 200 gr. SWC.

Lyman #358430 200 gr. according to an email conversation with the owner of Western Bullet his Lyman #358430 mold casts these bullets at .360 and he will sell them as cast or resizes them to .358. He told me that most of this model bullet that he sells, he sells to reloaders who want to duplicate the British 38 S&W load. Personally I duplicate the 38 Special Super Police load.

If those are 200gr bullets I can't tell you for sure but I do have numbers for the 180gr Cast Performance WFNGC bullets from a 1894C Carbine.

When loaded in .357 Magnum brass using H110 I got 1547 fps.
When loaded in .357 Magnum brass using Lil'Gun I got 1657 fps.

And YES, when shot from my 4" M686 they are a hand full without a doubt!

I recently bought 3 boxes of .38-200 for my Webley and WWII 38S&W from Old Western Scrounger (Google it). Pricey, but 1st class ammo. I think that they just got in a new run.

Don't ever forget the old scrouger for wierd stuff . When Dave owned it I was allowed to wander through the warehouse and was very impressed , it was then in Kalifornia, now they are supposed to be in Nevada.

Good to know, I've got a pristine nickel terrier in .38 S&W, but I was looking to try the 38 Special Super Police in a J frame. The lighter high velocity stuff has always struck me as unpleasant to shoot, so I found I was wondering if low speed heavy bullets would be better.

What (and how much) do you use for the load Unique, Bullseye, or 231?
