I just finished stippling my M&P full size 9mm. I did the back strap, grip(including just underneath the trigger guard), and two spots on the upper section of the frame for my thumb and index finger. Here are a few pictures of the finished product.
I won't say it is easy, just because its very time consuming and it's one if those task you must have a steady hand. I love the feel, the back strap is very smooth and the frame is a rougher feel. I've never wrapped my firearms in grip tape, but from years of skateboarding I know I'd prefer the stippling. I used a wood burning kit. Pretty much a soldering iron.
