Friends that know me well are threatening an intervention as I've been buying a new gun every single month since last November plus lots of stuff to go with them. Been averaging $2k per month. I promised myself time to stop buying guns let the savings account recover and even told the friends I'm done for a while.
Memorial day weekend walked out of Cabelas' with almost $1,300 in reloading equipment and supplies.
Yesterday (Saturday) I was at Gander Mountain when the store opened to order a new M&P pro 40 5" with FO fronts sights. 20% off any one gun purchase two days only. Now I'm about to order a SSS magwell and several TTI magazine extensions to go with it. I'll run the gun a while before doing the Apex trigger, probably next month.
Is there a GBA (Gun Buyers Anonymous) as I think I have an addiction.

Is that Gander Mountain deal local? I just just checked their site and didn't see any mention of it.

Sorry to back the bad news to you over the Internet but there is no cure. The only thing that changes is the list of things you want. As soon as you check one off two more appear. Its a never ending cycle. I never was a quitter so i keep acquiring too.

Following my Leader

You must be a Democrat, following Bill Clinton's ideals of gun control -- 1 gun a month. :)

From prior experience I found this to be an expensive practice, 16 guns in 14 months. There is an intervention -- you run out of money  ! !

We aren't much help.....more like gun buying enablers "GBE".

As soon as you run out of money or get a wife the gun buying comes to a screeching Halt...Trust me !

I say buy them while you can , because your gun buying days are not going last .

I have no words of wisdom for restraining yourself. While I have not done the one a month program, I have bought more than just a couple myself. A year ago I purchased my very first M&P. Now I have more than just one:D:D. So I am nearly in need of an intervention myself.

Welcome to the club. The great part of the Gun of the Month Club (GMC) is when I buy them from the range store I get another free month added to my range membership saving me $30 each month.

I've been a member of the (Smith) Gun A Month Club for going on 4 years now. I do have a one rule that slows me down a little. That rule is don't buy a Smith that I already have in my collection. That one has slowed me down lately and will slow me down more in the future. Rule number two is I can buy more than one gun a month if I feel the need. I use that rule a lot. It's a really good rule.

I used to have the problem of buying too many guns. But now I've cured myself of that by buying fewer, more expensive guns.

I try to buy at least one a year! My LGS&R has a policy of offering a free range membership with each gun purchase. The cost of membership is $200.00 annually. I renew my membership every year anyway, so the $200 is like getting a discount off the purchase of the firearm!
