In the past month I’ve had 2 or 3 calls from Apple, I never answered the calls, I figured it was a SCAM. If I don’t know the number dialing and if it’s important they will leave a message.

Kick back, relax, and have a beer because you did exactly what should have been done. Microsoft does not do what you described. It was a con.

Good answer.
OP, not sure why you would answer the phone if you did not know who was calling.

That would be a scam.
Also if they tell you that your system is infested with malware and that you need to pay them to clean it up for you.

They called me last year. Told me I had a virus on my PC and they would clean it for $300.

I acted all worried and told them what ever it takes, and were they ready for my credit card info.

They said yes.

Then I said, wait a minute...I don't own a PC.

Dude said give me $300 and I'll send you one.

I hung up.

I received a call from my service provider than my computer was trying to hack into Microsoft. I had noticed that my pc had tried to send out several emails that weren’t valid. Found out that I had to take it into a computer shop and have the virus removed. Microsoft contacted my service provider. They will not make contact otherwise from what I’m told.

Very sad to see that people who vote might believe this stuff . . .

Yep just got my 2 (robos) abouy a hour apart this afternoon!

I answered the phone for my elderly mom when I was visiting last year. It was the same call you described. I started laughing and he wanted to know why I was laughing. I said, "She doesn't have a computer, *****." He said he didn't think that was very funny and hung up. Those are all scams trying to take over your computer.

Scam calls

We get these darn things all day every day. I take a look at the caller ID and won't answer 99%. If they're for real they'll leave a message.

My wife has a huge problem not answering the phone. It must in the genetic make-up. Her brain is very concerned she might miss a really wonderful or important call. She's in her mid-70s now and I imagine she'll answer all calls when she gets into her 80s.

I think this guy oughta go legit. He’d have a future in sales.

And it won't be the last time... they are persistent, we get the same call every couple of weeks. When they tell me that Microsoft has detected that my computer has been hacked, I ask "So when did Microsoft start monitoring Apple computers?" CLICK... hello?
