We need to see a picture, or several, of the other side too. Sharp focus with plenty of light. It looks pretty good in the pictures but hard to tell about the finish for sure, whether it is original or a re-blue. Are there any S&W service stamps on the left side of the frame under the grips? A picture of that part of the frame might be helpful too. The grips are definitely not correct for a 1911 gun. The ones on it appear to be the convex ones we would see on a 2nd Model from 1920-1930. If 1911 production it probably should have gold medallion service stocks like those below.

Yeah, better pictures are needed. I hate to be that guy, but it looks like an old refinish which significantly impacts the value. If it is original it is likely worth $2500 or more, refinished, half of that.

Looks refinished to me as well. Pictures are hard to guestimate on but the blueing looks darker that the old guns to me, plus the barrel markings look polished down. It looks like a nice shooter grade .44 though.

I agree with the other posters - almost certainly a refinish and incorrect stocks. Shoot it and enjoy it. These old TLs are getting pretty scarce.
Value? I'd say somewhere around $1200 if everything else checks out. The fact that it appears to have been refinished along with the incorrect stocks whacks its collector value pretty significantly.

Yes, I would agree that your TL has been refinished. But it's still an early 6-1/2" TL in nice condition, and many of us would be glad to own it. I would think its value would be in the $1500 range, but it could be higher to the right person. If you decide to sell it, remember that you have Florida brethren that would like a shot at it (pun intended!). Good luck with your decision, and I hope that you survived OK when Hurricane Milton went through Central Florida.

Thanks for the additional pictures. It may have an old refinish but if so I don't see anything in the additional pictures to prove it, others may. Did you check for service department stamps under the left side grip panel?

I'd guess $1200-$1500 where I shop, not that we see them for sale all that often. More if we can confirm it's not refinished.

Maybe faded due to polishing.

side plate. Other than that, all numbers match, including the stocks. Big Larry

Great looking TL! I also believe it's been refinished the give away for me is that the stud in the frame (just above the left side grip panel) is flush. In the pre war guns this pin was left proud. Also the CCH on the hammer and trigger look slightly off, more vibrant that I would expect to see.

Not sure if triple locks are different but I see the pin on left side just in front of grips is polished flat with the frame (its either the trigger pivot or hammer pin). This is a tell tale sign of refinishing on many pre war models. That pin should be slightly proud and rounded at the end.

The "MADE IN U.S.A." stamp didn't appear until mid 1922. No TL should have that stamp.

Are you sure your serial number isn't 10508, as this number is way too high for a Triple Lock revolver?
