I received the new 25° and 45° deflectors and tested them out last night. I am happy with the results and hopefully this is the winning solution. The deflectors will be shipping out to the testers and we will see what they have to say.

I was planning on doing this for the original design, but the cost of hardware, extra machining steps, and assembly would make the part very expensive.
Can I get "Gopher Slayer" etched on the side of one of the new plinkin' plates?
...or maybe some lines that look like the slots on the older versions.
I will be offering a tactical sharpie that will allow you to "etch" any types of shape or lettering you want on virtually any surface all for the low price of about three fiddy
If I could offer custom engraving on the deflectors I would, but it is just not doable for me.

Rough estimate if everything works out, 6-8 weeks. It could be more or less.

I haven't followed this thread lately. I purchased one initially and had to take it off due to all the failures. I apologize if this has been discussed, but is there any thought to having an option for a brass catcher? Could it be designed to accept something like the Caldwell or similar?
I think it will be because the last version was so close. I keep the 45 degree on one of my 15-22's all the time and love it. I'll be sure to post my feedback when I get the new proto..

Me an another member have been discussing a brass catcher, and once everything is sorted out on the brass deflector i'll start working on it.

The prototypes for the latest iteration arrived Saturday. I will be going to the range on Wednesday to give them a workout. One is 25 Degrees and the other is 45. You will note that there is now a lip on the bottom to, presumably, deflect the cases directly downward instead of outward. It will be interesting to see how this works out.

That was one of the things I noticed about the angled brass deflectors is that on occasion some of the brass would bounce out and hit the inside of my forearm. Hopefully the lip will reduce/eliminate this. But it may be a byproduct of the angled design.
All of the testers should have received their new deflector shields and hopefully we will hear some positive results.

Just got back from the range. We didn't have as much time to shoot as I wanted, due to a last minute conflict. Nevertheless, my grandson and I managed to put about 150 rounds each downrange in the time we had.
I put the 25 degree deflector on my rifle and the 45 on my grandson's. In the 300 rounds total there was not a single problem attributable to the deflectors. In both cases, all cases dropped from the ejection port into a pile on the bench. The 45 was a few inches further away was the only difference. Having a thick towel on the bench kept them from bouncing around and pretty much negates the need for a brass catcher when shooting from the bench. Offhand or away from the bench is another matter.
This pretty much confirms my theory that the problems were being caused by the cases getting caught on the edges of the slots.

Flawless!
Both of them. I shot 200 rounds with each, fast and slow, and couldn't recreate any of the previous issues. My forearm didn't get hit once either. These deflectors definitely control the flying brass better. The shells made a softball sized hole in the snow right next to my boot.
If I had to pick one it would be the 25 degree deflector. It looks good on there.

Well, I guess I'll add my 2 cents;
Was able to hit the range and put 250 rounds with each deflector. (500 total) My observations are exactly as stated above. Both deflectors were flawless!
I used both high velocity and sub sonic and all ejected perfectly. Did notice that the 45 degree deflector, when shooting left handed, the brass would hit my right forearm on occasion. But none with the 25 degree one.
If I had to choose between the 2, I like the 25 degree one. Looks better on the rifle. IMHO
