I am back home and another one of my sisters will be going to Tampa shortly. During her better periods when I had others call and speak to her she would smile and respond to them. Most of the time she was just drifting in and out. I just told her good things, how I was proud of her and what a great job she had done with her son, what great kids her grandson and granddaughter were. How I was sorry about all the times as kids that I tormented her.
It has been almost 4 weeks since the transplant. Her only hope now is getting well enough for another liver. She has a dedicated nurse 24 hours a day and every one of them are great people and I can see that they are doing everything they possibly can for her. I could actually say if she was better than when I arrived or if I was more used to her appearance
If this isn't going to work out for her I want her to be at peace, not struggling in vain. It is terrible that is happening to such a good person.
Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and concern
Jim
