I found some 38 special at a lgs this week. 30.99 per box for Blazer. That is officially the highest price I have ever paid for ammo! 38 is almost impossible to find unless you go to Gunbroker and pay 1.25 per round.

I just picked up 1k of Winchester 5.56x45mm at $0.70rd (as in 5min ago) @MWUSA. Also got 600rd within past 3weeks at $0.60rd. This is all good enough for the range rush...
You just have to keep your eyes open...

I've herd nearest Cabelas in W.Va has no ammo and no guns to speak of.

All of my purchases were online and available to everyone. Keep at it, opportunities do come up on occasion.
I also saw that the S&W Sport II is available on MWUSA. About +$100.00 from what I paid 7-8 months ago, but available.

My Cabelas has Shotgun Shells and some Centerfire Rifle Ammo.

I bought 50 round boxes of loaded 38 SPL, 45 ACP and 45 Colt for $3.95, $4.95 and $5.95. Some came from K-Mart, some from Woolworth's Five & Dime and some came from a LGS. All very reasonable purchases.
OK, now I got your interest....LOL.
I had a habit of saving old cardboard ammo boxes. Back in the day I bought loaded ammo just to get the brass. No LGS sold a lot of reloading supplies, there was no internet and brass was hard to find.
I realize that some of these old boxes probably have collector value, but I'm, just not in the mood to have a garage sale. Today was garbage day, and it all went out.
Even more interesting is that when I started reloading I always transferred the brass to plastic slip-top boxes, and many of those old cases (circa 1970's) are still being reloaded after who knows how many times.
The moral of my story is that when I was a youngin making $135 / week I paid 5 bucks for a box of 45 Colts. With inflation I wonder how that calculates up to current values.

Confused here... More than two hours later, this 5.56x45mm is STILL AVAILABLE on MWUSA, more than two hours later. Please don't tell me that those complaining about a LACK of ammo "don't need" that many rounds. That said, only 1,000rd increments are available...

That is when a whole bunch of the paranoid overloaded xxxxx's, realize that they have been duped. Not an accusation, just the facts. Those of us old enough, have learned to not fall for that obvious deflection... Pay attention and you too, will develop greater awareness of what is actually happening. Hang in there...
Well, FWIW, I still can't get excited about ammo for 60-70 cents a round in 1000 piece lots when I have a couple of thousand I bought less than a year ago for 1/3 that price - and I can still reload it for 20 cents each.

They had from 2008 to 2016 to do all that and crickets.
I'm sure they remember the mid terms after the 1994 AWB. I doubt they would want a repeat.

From our standpoint as firearms enthusiasts I have to disagree. During that time we had the expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban and the SCOTUS case DC v. Heller. Both of these were HUGE wins for the 2A community. Not to mention the massive increase in Concealed Carry and Open Carry laws that have been enacted.
The last two decades have made gun ownership and gun laws much more liberal (the textbook definition, not the political one). I for one much prefer to live under the current interpretations of the 2A as compared to almost any time during the first 200 years of our Constitution. Historically speaking for us, things have seldom been better.

True, but losing both houses of congress and then the WH is not something you're anxious to repeat. It was a very painful lesson for the D's that they haven't forgot.

I'm sorry, I do not understand your comment, unless it is some form of braggadocios. Only "2K"...? And in how many calibers? I also saved over $100 on my last .223 purchase this past year.
FWIW, I ALSO have +3,500 53gr Sierra MKs and +16lb of H322, ~5k Rem 7-1/2 primers, and brass... etc. And ~35lb of powders total... Not to mention my "loaded" reserves... and reloading supplies...
Not to mention having +5k loaded 9mm Luger, and several "Ks" for my revolvers... Bullets/powder/primers... too many to count going forward.
Geez, my point is that one should be careful when posting/bragging. And yes, I have under "estimated/quoted" my current status. BTW, my 24/7/365 security cams work and record... Either of us could be held accountable for violations of associated laws, just saying... So be careful going forward.
If you are not as aggressive a your posts suggests, then I apologize.
