My girlfriend and i watched all the trailers and some of the 30 sec. ads. I think we will go see it.

I'm lookin' forward to it too. I was always a fan of the Clayton Moore, Jay Silverheels version.
In "Native" magazine the Navajo and other American Indian Nations approve of Johnny Depps portrayal of Tonto and I wanna see it.

That surprises me, pleasantly. I figured it would be a really odd, off-the-wall portrayal. Might have to see it myself.
If I remember correctly, that doesn't always happen, part of the movie was filmed on Navajo land and Depp was ceremoniously blessed by the Navajo nation. Tonto was portrayed as Comanche and apparently Depp has some Native blood and was accepted by the Comanche nation as a tribal member.

John Wayne isn't in it

May still be entertaining

I'll probably make it one of the three or four I see in the theater each year.

I'm going to go see it with the girlfriend. We're both looking forward to it.
Looks good to me, but what do I know? I actually like the 1981 Legend of the Lone Ranger movie, which I gather was panned as one of the worst movies ever. I even tracked it down on DVD.
On the other hand, I used to enjoy the black and white originals when I was a kid (re-re-re-runs), but if I try to watch them nowdays, they're almost unwatchable for me.

T.L.R. and Jaykellogg made me spit coffee on my computer, too funny!

In my "older guy opinion" Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels are the only two people to play The Lone Ranger and Tonto.

one of my most memorable moments in life was the time I met Clayton Moore, in person. he was in full costume, handed me one of his revolvers and we put on a mock gun fight for the children in the hospital's pediatric ward. he out drew me as if I was made of stone and the revolver felt like "N" frame weight.

Is Depp now qualified to receive casino revenue?

Marlon Brando was Depp's acting mentor. The director of the Chris Reeve "Superman" movie was warned that Brando would attempt to play Superman's father as a "purple balloon".

Depp has taken on that Brando trait, and in most of his recent movies has been doing the "purple balloon", the "Lone Ranger"appears to be another example of his OTT acting.

We will go see it. Neither my wife or I have any expectations whatsoever, and I do not expect it to be anything even close to what the characters have traditionally been. As a matter of fact, given this day and age, I expect Tonto to be the main character who changes the Ranger into what he is.
