I completely agree with this. It would make for a perfect bell shaped curve. Too bad there are so few 5 inchers around.

Don't have much use for the long barrel versions these days but have kept this ratty old 4 screw M14 around to look at from time to time

Great thread with many very sweet long barreled S&Ws. I'll take some pics of my 629 Extreme (which has a 12-inch barrel) and some better pics of my 29-5 Classic DX.
