The Model 27 Three and one half inch BBL

I couldn't afford a real one, so I took my previously refinished 28-2 (that I got at an auction for a mere $275)and had a 3.5" ($70) barrel put on it. Not as fancy as a 27, but I now have my "grail gun" that I'm not afraid of taking in the woods with me! For under $450!

I think this was the finest revolver made by S&W and my favorite for sure. I carried this on duty and sold it, *** to cheap long ago. But for whatever reason the short barrel was dropped and it remains my favorite of all. Comments?

What else is there to say? The 3 1/2 inch Model 27 is perhaps the best looking S&W of all time (with Magna stocks, just as God intended). :)

Man all you guys are really making me want a 3.5 incher bad. Something about those I tell ya lol. :)

Heck, I might as well jump on the band wagon too. Here's
my first year of production, pre-27 with a 3.5" bbl. and factory
nickel finish with a set of aged ivory magnas. The H.H. Heiser
holster was made in 1950 for this particular handgun. It came
with special order items such as the hammer guard, rawhide
stitching and an optional belt snap loop on the back.

Absolutely gorgeous set up.
