The Movie Theatre Rant

Wife and I go maybe once every two years. Only to matinees when very few people are there. I carry as you are very vulnerable sitting in a dark room where any goof can walk in and make you a crime victim.

Won't get into the stuff I've endured in theaters over the years, we've all been there.

I sure do miss the drive in's.. at least if the movie was bad you could at least watch the show in the car next to you...

Someone already said it but I avoid strangers and crowds like the plague. Since 1998 I have been to one movie in a theater. My wife and I and our daughter took the grand beasts to see Shrek The Third (2007). Even being with the grandkids wasn't enough to overcome the suck. Some little brat spit soda all over the back of my head and I'm fairly certain our daughter dropped over 200 bucks (7 kids).

There's not a movie in the world I want to see that bad, especially given the technology to recreate the theater experience in your own home (minus the soda to the back of the head) is available

THE FEAR FACTOR

Grumpy old ex-cop shot a cell phone talker.
Have not been to a movie since then.

He was in fear for his life from thrown popcorn.
Destroying personal property & physically assaulting her hubby??? Shots being fired "at movie screens" not new, or unheard of. Are movie theatres the new Dodge city? ;)

When we visit our Daughter and her hubby in Boca they always take us to a move at least once while were there, depending upon what all is playing and how long we're gonna be there. But this theater is one of those that have the reclining seats and tray tables and they serve drinks and dinner. Never had any problems in there. I'll keep going back until I do. The last movie we saw was Aqua Man. A very surprising entertainment. Story was ok but the EYE CANDY was spectacular!!

On a side note; I wouldn't hesitate to go to a move in a theater with my Nephew. Someone above speculated he might have anger management issues. You have NO idea. He ain't overly large but he's a handful when he lets the badger loose. But he's 41 years old now and has calmed down a bunch. But he still has a couple of buttons and you don't want to get on one of 'em.

I last saw the inside of a theater in 2001. The film was ENEMY AT THE GATES. Senior matinée priced at $5.

The music and sound effects were too loud whilst the actors mumbled. In the opening wolf scene I could not catch one word the grandfather was saying until he yelled "fire".

I'm sure it is just me.
