The NFL...Stop the bus I wanna get off.

What is don't understand is how and why so many people pay the crazy ticket prices to sit in the nose bleed seats to watch all this nonsense.

As mentioned bring back 70;s football, John Madden type teams playing in outside stadiums with real grass and snow! like Green Bay!!:)

The big problem is that we now have replay from every possible angle. The officiating hasn't gotten worse, everyone else has just gotten pickier.

What I wonder about is why anyone who isn't on the field cares.

This is the issue. We have perfect views of all kinds of missed/bungled calls but the rules say that many actions on the field are not reviewable. That's what gets people wrapped around the axle.

Best example I saw was when the Arizona Cardinals lost a game. A photo of the opposition player making the winning score showed that one of his teammates had such a hold on a Cardinals player he had almost removed the guy's shirt. No call.

The main reason I was rooting for whatever team was the Chief's opponent. Probably not a good idea to get into the political endorsement angle here.

Doesn't have to be political. It's purely capitalism at it's best. The only problem is that the product doesn't get any better while the fans are asked to pay more.

Just refer back to the movie Friday Night Lights when the passed ball bounces off the turf and is called a good catch. Makes me barf.

I went to the local watering trough Sunday to see a game. The sound was so loud, and when I discovered there was more time dedicated to visual advertisement than to actual game time I just walked out. I Doubt I will even bother any more this season.

Kneeling for the National Anthem . Focusing on a singer instead of the game . Playing an alternate national anthem . Don't forget advertising for BLM in the end zones . It's just too much . I'm out .

Is the Kelce/Swift thing scripted by the NFL? No. Of course not. Is the NFL (and anyone else that can make a buck off of it) leaning into it as hard as possible? Yes. Rightly so. It is a business, after all. Does it have anything to do with football? No. But it does bring more eyes to the sport and sells merchandise and ad space.
Is the officiating worse than before? Possibly, I'm not sure. It is possible the officials are counting on the cameras to bail them out. But, they're watching the play in real time, with human eyeballs connected to human brains. Seven guys on the field to watch 22 of the fastest humans on the planet go as hard as they can. They're not gonna get every call. As far as replay goes, there's one guy in the booth at the game. I don't know how many people in NY are watching, but they'd need 22 guys watching the feeds from 22 cameras at all times. And still they would miss things.
Is it perfect? No. Is it like it used to be? No. But, sex ain't like it used to be and it's still fun. So is the NFL. I'll keep my seat on the bus. It's all the way in the back, but that's where the cool kids sit.

My wife doesn't like Taylor Swift, but we were talking about her and Travis Kelce. I pointed out that no matter how much money he makes, she's likely a billionaire.

Much like Tom Brady and Giselle what's her name. She made more in a year than he did in his entire career.

Frankly he'd have been better off sticking with Bridget Moynahan. :)

Anyway, I'll root for whoever beats the Ravens.

I was never on the NFL bus. No team loyalty, don't care in the slightest who wins the playoff games or the Super Bowl. If I watch the Super Bowl it will be more for the commercials. I just saw Budweiser is going for five 30-second ads of old fashioned beer selling with no wokeness. We'll see.

Correction. Two 60-second and one 30-second. The Clydesdales are back. $35 Million for all combined.
