What a day! Me and Herman, my pet puffin adder, were watching our favorite Jane Fonda exercise tape when the phone rung. It was Buford. Buford's the county agent for our county, but since there's no farming around here anymore, he gets kinda bored. Me and all the other local folks discovered we could do better drawing a government check so all the farms just closed down. Anyhow, he called to tell me the Big Brown Truck just pulled up and delivered my new Glock. Like always, they seem to get guns to Buford a day or two ahead of schedule. You see, besides being the county agent, Buford's a FFL, and gets pistols for near about everybody in the county.
I'm sorta a Glock collector myself. I buy 'em mostly for their elegant beauty. I shoot a few of 'em two, but mostly I just collect 'em in my safe. This one's going to be a shooter, though. Me and Buford's cousin Cyrus hunt bears with hounds and shoot them old boys out of the trees with 9mm's, which is fine as long they're loaded up to +P power…which Cyrus's skinny little kid, Luke, loads for us using his grandpappy's Lyman tong tool. Our Glocks are on a steady diet of +P ammo now; ever since some regular stuff failed and a wounded bear got a hold of Buford's old hound Jake. RIP.
I's able to buy my new Glock cause some fool gave me a bunch of money for a old Smith and Wesson down at the Elroy's BBQ. That city slicker payed good money for it despite the fact that it didn't have no lock and the trigger and hammer didn't even match the rest of the gun. He said it was minty but I swear I never stirred my drink with it. I'd never do that. Anyways, soon as I got my money I dropped most of it off with Buford (Buford won't take Bank of America credit cards no more) and then run down to Walmart with the rest and bought one of them new Chinese holsters…same brand as I got for my Kimber a few months ago.
Anyway, I gotta run now. Buford's office closes in a while so's his secretaries can get home early and I don't want to miss him. I'll have to drive slow 'cause I'm still breaking in my new Range Rover and I don't want to drive it too fast 'till it's broken in a little better.
