The Ultimate Model 10 Thread!

My only 10-5 picked it up Friday love the classic look of the tapered barrel, numbered grips.

I had been looking for a nice Model 10 bull barrel for a long time, rare to find ones in good shape here in California in my experience. Really happy to find one a few months back, turned into my Christmas present.
Model 10-6 4 inch bull barrel, with wide target hammer but smooth wide trigger. Just the combo I wanted, is it common?

Here's My Crew

Great photos all :). Without doubt the M&P/Model 10 is the seminal S&W, the gun that made the company.

My M&P journey started with this one-line M&P that appeared on a local board.
Swapped a Mosin for this one. Figured I came out OK.
And, turns out its a "birth year" (1947) gun (am I REALLY that old?)
Got it cleaned up and fixed the stocks.

This one loves good old 158 LRN. 50 rounds @ 10 yds:

Then Bud's came up with another batch of the Aussie 3-inchers. Jumped on that and got this one cleaned up:

And then, in December, these two appeared in the same week:

The whole crew posing for a lineup. The ringer is the Model 12 that sneaked into the mix (was jealous, I'm sure).

Model 10-5 from 1962

My first time to post here.
I have my dad's model 10-5 .38 Special with 4" tapered barrel; it was made in '62 and is in great shape.
Question is can I shoot +P from it safely & is it advisable?
Also, I have the original holster with it called the "Monte Carlo". Any suggestions of other holsters that are good for this model?
Thanks.

I don't know how I missed this thread.
Now I get to play.
These are my shooters. At least one of them gets shot each week.
First is the Pre-10 (1950). The target was shoot DA at 10 yds.

The next are my 10-8s. I didn't set out to get a pair of 10-8s. It just happened. They are primary house guns.

The grips on all 3 are Uncle Mike's Boot Grips.
