The ultimate Model 19/66 Combat Magnum thread

My latest purchase, a 2 1/2" 66-1. Another beautiful P&R Combat Magnum! Once again....SORRY for the crappy pictures!

Sorry, I need to learn to adjust the size of the photos

And more difficult to find. I did a auction search and could find -3s, -4s and an occasional -2 but not the others. These forum members must have 'em! :)

If your talking about the snub version thats because they do not exist.
The dash 2 change occurred in 1961,
S&W made an initial run of 50 CM 2.5" snubs in 1963 but they didnt become a cataloged item until 1966.

Also, 4 screw CM's exist but there are no 5 screws.

New to Club 66, Here's my -1

Picked this one up last weekend from a local member of the forum.
Its a -1 that dates to 1980. Threw away the goodyears it was wearing and gave it my usual fluff and buff. Fitted a pair of targets that I'd redone. Made it to the range for the first time on Thursday.
After 250 rounds of .38 and another 200 of .44 magnum, I started in with the 66.
Got 15 rounds downrange before a cease fire was called. Grouped well though I got stupid on one round as is my norm.
As my arm was pretty tired at this point, I packed things up.

You are not far off there. Of the hundreds of thousands of C.M.'s made people are just not selling them.
Besides the auction sites I hit 2-3 gun shows a month. There are 4-5 VERY serious S&W dealers I know and I have told them all if they find a C.M. in good shape let me know. I have not seen one for sale, at the gun shows, in close to a year. In fact I bought a 2 1/2" 19-3 LNIB from one 8-9 months ago for $750 and he called me shortly after wanting to buy it back for $850. I got a 'few' and am NOT selling.

After looking at this thread I feel like I'm getting a fever. Must be that S&W bug again. Now I've got to find me another M19.
