There is a fast food place I hate, except for;

I'll get a hankering at times for Checker's chili cheese fries.

We dont have any Checkers here, but when I was in college-some three million years ago-in a city about 135 miles from my current position--I was able to get a good filling cheap meal--a few times a week with a $17 allowance--which also went for gas and such. Anyway, I loved their food and back then-ours sold curly fries made of sweet potato--and I also liked their spicy fries too.

When we travel at least once we stop for breakfast at McD, I'm always sorry afterwards.

At last gun show--just a couple days ago--I has a sausage biscuit from them both days. Sat I was fine, but Sunday I felt sick for a few hours. Guess I can stomach them 2 days in a row?

The Dirty's in Austin is really "Dirty Martins". Everybody just calls it Dirty's. The Dirty's in Houston were no relation but did have pretty good chicken fried steak. There are two SteaknShake in the Austin area. One in Round Rock and on in deep south Austin, both on the infernal I-35. For years Austin had at least two Checkers. Good burgers and fries but alas they are gone. Five Guys have several stores in Austin and I have found they are not too bad, IMHO a little step up from Whataburger but without a drive thru.

I have eaten at Freddie's in Bryan, TX. I liked it.
Better than almost any other fast food joint.

The S&S I ate at was in South Austin. A few blocks away is a Johnny Carinos--which I ate many-a-soup n salad lunch there. I loved that particular place. There were a few other great places near that I tried--one was a Greek restaurant.
