To Re-Load or Not???

I have 8 mags, but they're CA-compliant 10 round jobs. I've taken them pre-loaded mags to the range only to find myself with eight empties after five minutes. :D

If I had a stack of 25 round mags it would be a whole different story. haha

Do you have to leave them 10 rounders once you have them in hand or must keep them that way ?

I got a deal on some 10rd mags that had been sitting. Just knocked the pins out and converted them to 25rd. :D

Now I'm good for about 10 minutes shooting... :D

I have a few 30/10 rounders that are pinned. While knocking the pin out when I leave CA is something I would seriously investigate it is just not worth the possible trouble here in the DPRC. But then again I firmly believe in approaching the line, looking over it and thinking but always keeping my feet firmly planted on the 100% legal side. Wouldn't want to give Piers, DiFi, Bloomberg or any other "person" something they could use against us.

Four of my mags are pinned 25 rounders, but it's not worth the risk of becoming a felon here in CA for the extra 15 rounds. I must be happy simply for the fact that I don't need a bullet button on my 15-22.

Yeah....kids slow you down and keep you from many things. But on the other hand, I wouldn't trade my 15 year single fatherhood experience for anything. That being said, I grew up in southern az and my son lives in northwest az now and I'm sure missing the desert the memory of which increases in intensity everytime I file my state taxes, buy anything, put gas in my car, listen to the local news, pass Pelosi Island on 101, see a picture of DiFi, think about how Moonbeam got to be governer....again.......so why am I living here again? Sure is nice weather!

CA weather is about the only thing going for it anymore. Well, that and the price of fresh produce. :)

I was born and raised in Hawaii where the firearms laws are about as bad as they are here. It's another warm weather state run by liberal democrats. No wanting to go back there.

My kids want to move to Canada after college so one option for the wife and me is to move to Oregon since WA seems to be heading down the path of gun control. But AZ is also a possibility since my wife is partial to warm weather. Although summers of extended 100°+ days may be a bit much for me :D

There is probably more ammunition reloaded from RCBS rock chucker kits/presses and Lymans Big Orange Crusher than Dillion, mainly due to the cost factor of the press etc. Once you get in the swing of things and get a rythm going its easy to reload a lot of rounds in a short period of time. I sure would like a Dillon myself, but am just as happy with my Orange Crusher by Lyman. I have seem them as well as RCBS in pawn shops for about $75.00 or so.

What's left is a little on the high $$ side. :(

I've been ordering 40 gr bullets lately. But I also have some 60 and 68 gr bullets on back order at Sinclairs. I've definitely moved past the days of ordering only $89/1000 bulk bullets. Haha.

Bill remember that place that had brass I told you about they now have 55 grain projectiles a bit high but in bulk .26 ea. thought I would pass it along :D

Thats what I was thinking but wasnt sure and thought I would ask, since I started using the swager I havent had to remove hardly any material.:D

Even on the crimped primer surplus ammo,we could get 7-8+ relodings out of one peice of brass if you were careful with the pockets first time around.

Thanks. I have 1000 40 gr bullets ordered from Natchez: 500 Sierra Varminter HPs, and 500 Nosler Ballistic Tips. Unfortunately all these are being fed to the Mossberg so I probably shouldn't be talking about it here. :D
