Toilet Paper!

Ordered 48 boxes of Toilet Paper by mistake

Read some about toilet paper being short supply - some stores sold out.

An Australian family placed an order online for toilet paper. They wanted 48 rolls. They ended up getting 48 boxes, which is more than 2,000 rolls.

Australian Family Mistakenly Orders 2,300 Rolls Of Toilet Paper : NPR

Long long ago I worked in a chem lab.
Corks were used in the sample bottles that came to lab from the production units.
When it was time to order more corks I GOOFED!
Accidentally order 500 boxes of 500 corks.
This was in the days when orders were mailed in.
A couple of days later I discovered the mistake.
CALLED the supplier and explained my mistake.
"NOT a problem. We knew it was a mistake. Not the first time it has happened.
We know which of Our Customers would really want 500 boxes of anything."

Dear, I think we need to stock up on the toilet paper, my head alone is a two roll wrap by todays standards! Don't want to come up short at either end!

My wife just returned from Sam's Club with a 45 roll masterpack of tp. 275 sheets per roll. If it was .22 shells that would be like 22 and a half Federal value packs and if I was swappin it would be about an even trade, 2 rolls tp for 1 Fed 550 rd value pack. :D ;)

If somebody was to take that deal I'd swap it all and use corncobs.

I guess we'll have to go back in time to using this for TP.

My local Kroger looked all normal on Saturday, by today however, the stock of paper products was much reduced. You could still get TP and Paper towels, but the mega packs of both were mostly gone.

...I was forced to buy a few sponges. I have some bleach here at the house and well... :(

Ahhhh.... remembered your Roman history and decided to make some tersoriae for the family? Don't forget the salt water and vinegar, which you'll need when the bleach runs out.
"...Our ancient Roman would simply wipe him- or herself, rinse the tersorium in whatever was available (running water and/or a bucket of vinegar or salt water), and leave it for the next person to use. That's right, it was a shared butt cleaner. (And of course, there were other means of wiping as well, such as the use of abrasive ceramic discs called pessoi.)...
Pessoi? Aarrrghhhhhh.....

IIRC, some years ago Johnny Carson made a joke about a toilet paper shortage in his opening monologue that started a feeding frenzy.

That said, went to Costco today to pick up a scrip and there was an employee at the door with a sign that said they were out of TP and paper towels. People walking out with multiple packages of water even though there's no issue with the water supply system. They were also out of flushable wet wipes.

Just goes to show how hysteria makes people concentrate on certain body parts over others.
