Tough times.. gotta sell, advice...

This whole thread is so sad. I mean, I've had to sell all my guns, except one S&W, a few years back, not so much for my financial problems, but to help a sick friend. It's never easy. And unfortunately, in these terrible economic times, more and more people are having to sell things that they wouldn't otherwise think of selling. Whichever route you decide on, I wish you all the best, and may the future be happier and more prosperous for all of us.

Should I consign at 10% or try and sell them here? I am somewhat pressed for time.
Try here first, especially if they are desirable or specialty models. I've sold 3 here. Two of them were gone in just a few days, the other one took several weeks. No consignment fees, no Gunbroker fees, no problems. Note that you can probably ship them directly to the purchaser's FFL without an FFL at your end, which saves one FFL fee. It does increase the cost of shipping, as UPS and FEDEX will want you to overnight it.

That's problematic. Guns sometimes vanish in the fickle hands of the common carriers. If one uses an FFL to ship, then there is at least proof that the gun is out of one's possession. Shipping direct and having it get lost... well that could be more a hassle.

Considering air shipping charges, it usually comes out about the same to have an FFL accept a gun and then ship it via USPS Priority mail (for handguns anyway, I no longer trust the USPS with rifles).

Some FFLs also refuse to accept from individuals.
