Trijicon HD f/Shield- set screw

Picked up a set of these and noticed it doesn't come with a new set screw. Is that normal?

Still waiting for Trijicon to answer my email, but guess it doesn't matter. I call S&W and the gal dropped one in an envelope while we spoke. No questioned asked about why. I even asked,don't I owe anything and she said no.

The 2 or 3 encounters with there customer support over the years have been stellar for me.

The set screw does not come with the HD's. Use the original set screw.

Would love to resuse it. Had to be drill out though.

It's held in by red Loctite some come out easy others you have to completely strip the slide and use a heat gun to melt the Loctite.

I replace mine with high quality stainless steel set screws anyway.

Yea, I heated it. maybe not enough, but the bigger problem was a cheap hex bit that snapped of in there like butter. Is what is. I'll get it worked out.
