Two Explosin's At Boston Marthon

Latest I am getting is a Saudi National is in custody and is being guarded at one of the hospitals with some shrapnel wounds.

Up to 12 dead now and they supposedly caught and ID'd the bomber as a Saudi national.....

Authorities ID suspect as Saudi national in marathon bombings, under guard at Boston hospital - NYPOST.com

If true (Saudi national) I'm sure our government will arrange a safe flight back to Saudi Arabia for any family members....

Gee, somebody didn't want to just exploit the "gun show loophole" to do some real damage!

I have a feeling that this will somehow get embroiled in the current gun issue.

But it may be harder for someone in power to get survivors of this tragedy to camp on the White House lawn and demand more strict anti-bomb laws, seeing as destructive devices like that are already illegal, big-time!

I guess everyone recalls the Oklahoma City bombing of some years ago. At least, this isn't that bad.

A few months ago, some guy in a Dallas suburb injured himself with a bomb and more were found at his residence. I don't think his case has yet been heard. I believe his target was a natural gas line. If he has any connection to Al Queda, it hasn't come out yet.

One of my son's worse experiences in Iraq began with a roadside IED, folowed by heavy small arms fire. We lose many of our casualties in Afghanistan to bombs, too. If this becomes a trend, it'll cause a lot more damage per event than random shooters usually do.

CNN is already saying, "Right Wing Extremist" could be behind it.

Imagine that.

The Liberal Media is discusting.

The Crapola New Network, aka CNN just pointed out "as a side note" that many of the Sandy Hook families were very near where the bombs went off. Maybe I'm just sensitive but it was almost like she was saying but not saying, "so the NRA was probably involved."

Last I heard over 100 were being treated at hospitals for injuries. I heard a man was in custody a "person of interest". With regards to the gun control debate, I fail to see how this could hurt private ownership of firearms. (I cannot bring myself to call this a "good thing") However as has been pointed out, bombs are illegal, so making more guns illegal isn't the solution to the problem of the public being harmed. I would call this a distraction in the gun control debate.

Is this (see highlight) a word that combines "disgusting" with "discussing"?

Seriously, they do have a slanted view of the "news" and it is truly disgusting.

OK, you can color me somewhat, no, make that very cynical, but, I have a sneaking suspicion that someone is NOT going to let this "crisis go to waste." If I'm lyin', I'm dyin'. ;)

Yeah , local ABC news is saying due to the small crude bombs , it points to domestic right wing fringe groups like those behind Oklahoma and Columbine!

If they used commonly available gunpowder , , ,

We need universal background checks on all homemade bombs. Is it too late to get an amendment made to the current legislation that closes the gun show loop hole?

Joe Biden, call your office....

This is a tragedy for all Americans which should lead us all to ask how safe are we in our daily lives. Boston is one of the great American cities, and the marathon is a great American event.

Very sad indeed. I am very interested to hear why? What possible reason would someone have in doing something like this? ie what's the bomber's "cause"? Not to make lite of the situation, but could someone have had a vendetta against the marathon for being left out or ???

I do hope that if the party responsible is a foreigner that rather than send them back to their country, make an example of them in a very very very ugly way!

Well apparently there is no suspect in custody as of the press conference I just saw, so unless this is old its back to could be anyone.

if not a "right wing extremist" then a freedom fighter, misguided youth, or just more workplace violence

News conference just now 6:00 PM est, No one in custody. Two bombs exploded. "Suspicious" backpacks blown up by police. JFK Library was not the same kind of a bomb, it was a fire, possible firebomb, don't know.

These two bombs were "powerful".
