Tyler T-Grips

Hi, has anyone recently received a Tyler T-Grip? I sent a check to them approximately 7 weeks ago, and I have not heard back from them. Their site says that they shipped out, but I have not seen anything in my mail recently.

My experience: he waits at least a month or two for your check to clear. I sent a check and it took months. Others have said that they sent a USPS money order and it shipped within days.

Don't lose hope. As aggravated as I was at the time, once I got it - I got over it. It's a small operation, have faith, be patient. It's all good...

I've got one Tyler adaptor, and five or six of the
BKGRIPS adaptors. Admittedly, these are all on
I- and J-frame guns, and have no experience with
larger Smiths. However, the BK's work as well as the Tyler
on these small firearms. Plastic or not, they do work!
Call me "Happy-In-Cheeseland".

They are a small business. And they just got hit with an awful tornado. Have some patience.

Or just buy some plastic ones. When the Tyler's do arrive, sell them on this Forum.

You guys are killing me.;) OK, who has a black 3R they want to give up?:D Just kidding. There will be one in my mail box any day now.

Why do people keep wasting their money with these folks? As someone else pointed out, this BS has been going on for years. Enough already!

Because "These Folks" sell a unique product that no one else has been able to 100% reproduce.

Sure...the plastic "t-grip" works, but it's not the same.

Very nice, axl911.

So, who's going to be first to get a T-grip engraved to match a gun? :)

Kiss your money good buy.

I placed an order with tyler 7 months ago and the only thing that I got was my cashed check. Good Luck My Friend.

I got 2 sets of the BK grip adapters today and they look pretty darn good. I would not hesitate to order them again.:D

I was about to tell my dad to order some of these for his J-frame. I am sad he is having trouble shipping right now, I am glad I found this though! I'll have to tell my dad to wait...

OMG, here we go again!

There is an advantage to being a member for a few years, you get to see what appears to be new issues that are simply old threads resurrected.

These guys have been doing this since the original generation passed away. You read about a hundred negatives then a couple of apologists come on saying: "Little Guy - bad luck - be patient."

There was a thread a couple of years ago than ran for several pages. Dozens upon dozens of folks had their checks cashed as far back as a year previous and still no grips.

No phone, no email, no credit cards accepted.

Be patient, expect no communication. Expect no customer service. Deadlines are vapor wear. They have your cash and will send your grip when and if they get around to it!

I, for the life of me, cannot understand why anyone would even contemplate doing business with these folks.

Fourteen pages, six hundred and fifty five responses:

I think this is what you want................

BK Grips | 2-Clip Grip Adapters for Revolvers

The BK Grip adaptor was invented precisely because a forum member had been ripped off by Tyler. Instead of simply complaining about it, he decided to do something. He made a few prototypes, gave them to forum members for evaluation, redesigned the mold based on feedback, and went into business.

God Bless America!

So I picked up my mail today and lo and behold: MY T-GRIP ARRIVED! =O

The Good:

It looks nice from the side, and it fits reasonably well in the hand.

The Bad:

AsymmetricalTGrip_zpscab911c8.jpg

If this is the state of American craftsmanship, sign me up for the Chinese ****.

Now, I am not sure if this is intended, but the T-Grip I got was asymmetrical. I mean, look at these photos. One side was cut differently than the other, and the vertical cross section is obviously uneven; note the light source distorting across the face and the profile of the tail (one comes to a tip, the other not quite so).

The Ugly:

I even have to point out that the finish was terrible. The bottom looks like it was dragged on concrete, and the brushes are not monodirectional. Oh, and you can see further confirmation that the T-Grip is indeed asymmetrical.

I am definitely going to have to sand the thing down, then rebrush it by hand with a Scotch Brite pad.

So yeah, stop giving this guy your money. It will take forever (for me, 8 weeks, but I seem to be fortunate -_-), and you will have a shoddy product.

I got one in the mail today too. Mine looks ok. It's symmetrical and the black finish looks good. I only wish I had ordered a 3R instead of a 3. No fault of the company of course. On the bright side I have an excuse to get another square butt gun.:D

I like magna's with the T-grip. Have them on several J and K
frames. I placed an order with Tyler in OKC for a N frame
T-grip. I mailed my order form with personal check on 7-30-13
The check cleared my checking acct. on 8-2-13. I received my
N frame T-grip this afternoon, 8-8-13. I can't find fault with
that kind of service. I feel for those that have been waiting
for eons. Maybe, tomorrow will be the day.
