It was 95 degrees in the shade this morning, and I'm not in the shade when I take care of my horse or tend to my fruit trees. I needed to tinker with one of my cars, but it was too hot to leave the air conditioned house. My Northern European ancestry does not do well in this heat. I feel sorry for one of my friends. His wife wants to leave California for Texas, and she told him that it doesn't get hot in Texas. They are going to Texas in July to look at real estate. Should I tell him to bring a sweater for the cold Texas weather in July?
Friend, there ain't no place in Texas that isn't hotter than the hinges of he%% in July.
The coastal bend is probably the coolest. It is humid, but always has a coastal breeze the cools things down a bit compared to the interior. Here in central Texas we have been hitting triple digits most days this month. It is worse in the big cities. We live outside the city more in the hills and higher elevation.
