Unexplained things/paranormal stuff….

Mrs. Pawncop and I enjoy going on ghost tours for the history of the region.

On one tour in New Orleans, our guide share some thoughts. He theory was there is energy remaining in the body and we don't know what happens to it.

What if that energy remains and we are not able to sense it? We now know of many forms of energy existing and we are not able to sense that form but it does exist.

Not sure if I embrace his theory, but I willing to think about it.

Dr. Jim Tucker from the University of Virginia's Division of Perceptual Studies has made a profound statement. He believes it is now correct to say that there is scientific evidence that our consciousness lives on after physical death. Watch his YouTube videos, read his book(s), and especially read the book by Andrea and Bruce Leininger about their son James as a reincarnated World War II fighter pilot. They also have a ton of YouTube interviews and a chain of custody [according to Dr. Tucker] that shows when they came upon certain information which led the university and others to conclude that reincarnation is the best explanation for the story. The James Leininger story alone is proof that consciousness does not end with physical death. As Dr. Tucker often states, between the 2,500 children's past lives stories they've catalog and coded and even more near death experiences (NDEs) the university has documented, our consciousness appears to live on. As such, ghost stories, while far less successfully documented, are now back on the table.

Now that right there is scary. I've always thought that if there is a benefit to death it would be that you don't have to worry about anything or anyone anymore. Depending upon the nature of the consciousness I might have been mistaken.

I think that a lot of them just move on. To where? Dunno.
When my Dad died, my Mother dreamt that he came to her and she freaked out. The next night he came to my sister in her dreams and she freaked out. Finally, the next night he came to me in my dreams and we sat on my bed and talked for a while.
After that the "visits" stopped.
Did he move on or was it all really just a dream?

Snubbyfan, I have sent you a private message.

This seems to be a classic case of stating something as fact and
then searching for only those things that confirm this. As far as
reincarnation, there has never been a documented case where
an outside objective proof was found. Sounds like Tuckers
religious beliefs he is trying to prove, so much for that.
Childern can be coached to say about anything if they think it
pleases the adult.
The Leininger's story has zero evidence except what they them-selves claim. And they write a book to profit from this story.
Could they have embellished these claims just to make a few
bucks. Greed maybe involved??
Bottom line is Tucker and Leiningers have Zero (0) objective
proof of any of their claims. Believe what you want but please
have a rational reason for doing so.

As many others stated, never had an experience. I am not so arrogant to believe that these things are not real. After all, C02 exists. You can't see it, taste it or smell it, but it is real. Maybe one day we will understand it, but it will be long after I have moved on to wherever it is we go.

Classic confirmation bias. Find stuff that conforms to your preconceived beliefs and present it as evidence. Has he interviewed people who have not experienced these things? Don't they count? Are they not part of the evidence? On the other hand, if it's on Youtube it must be true. Gotta go, hearing voices I my head (my wife), telling me it's my turn to cook dinner!

Like many, I've experienced things that didn't make sense, but aren't worth enough to discuss. My take is that there is a greater power, and things happen for a reason. Our human race is much too new and primitive to understand the workings of the unknown.

Who knows if any of it's real or just figments of our imaginations. I've had a few experiences over the years that gave me pause, but didn't freak me out. When you think that just 10,000 years ago our ancestors had just started farming while others were still hunting and gathering,we haven't come very far and don't really know much. 1000 years from now our descendants will probably laugh about us ;-)

I have seen departed dogs out of the corner of my eye.

A high school friend killed herself after a terrible family fight. It was pretty hard on those of us who were involved with my Explorer post; one of the advisors had a hell of a time with it. Some time later, I saw a reflection in a store window of a car like her family had, with her driving a few other girls around as she would have done. I quickly turned around and there was no car of any type in sight.

She was pretty perceptive about some parts of me that I kept away from most people. I wonder if there was some linkage as a result. I was about 650 miles away from our home town when I saw the reflection, so it was not an existing imprint in my mind.

FWIW. I don't think I've told this here before. It happened in 2012. I was working in Rockingham County NC. There was a murder trial coming up and I was detailed to serve a paper to an eyewitness. Older woman who lived alone. House was out in the sticks, as was most of my jurisdiction.

It was early December and cold. Snow was in the forecast, but that afternoon was sunny. I rolled up to the house and walked up on the porch. Banged on the door and announced myself. No answer. But I could hear a television on inside. Banged again. No answer. I left.

It started snowing later in the afternoon. I decided that since the house was on my way home, I would attempt service one more time. I rolled up and could see the blue hued light of a television coming through the blinds on the front window. I grabbed my Maglite and walked up on the porch. I rapped the flashlight against the door frame and announced myself. I again could hear the television and see its light through the blinds. Nobody came to the door. I gave 5 more forceful raps on the frame and announced again - loudly. No answer. I walked back to the car.

As I got in the front seat of the Crown Vic, I glanced back at the house and saw someone peaking out through the blinds. That annoyed me, but I figured maybe the old gal is hard of hearing. I went back up on the porch and rapped the door frame several times. Loudly. No response at the door. Same blue light and television noise. Cold and wet now, I left.

On my way into the office the next morning, I stopped again and attempted service. You could see the remnants of my foot prints in the snow and the tire tracks from my Crown Vic. No other prints or marks. It was getting light out, but you could faintly see the blue light from the still playing television and I could still hear it when I got up on the porch. Same drill - BANG!BANG!BANG! COME TO THE DOOR! Nothing. No reponse. But I noticed the blue light from the TV was gone and I couldn't hear it anymore. Frustrated, I left.

When I got into the office the secretary called out to me. I went into her office and she said "You still have that Subpeona for the witness in the homicide case?" "I just spoke to her daughter. She passed away last April and the house is vacant now. They have it up for sale." :o I just nodded and shrugged. And kept my experience to myself. ;) Regards 18DAI

Young James did say that you don't have to come back. It's easy to wonder how dependable a 3 year old can be, but his mother asked him if God was a man or woman, and he said, he's neither man or woman, he's whatever you need him to be at the time. He was only three!

The James Leininger story is crazy spooky. You also get to evaluate interviews with his parents which gives you a chance to get a sense if they're for real. Everyone gets to evaluate that for themselves, but when you're done, you're likely going to walk away thinking "holy ____!"

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

This...

Some people are more open or aware to such things than others, for better or worse.

I've had it happen to me a few times- one example.

My friend and I practiced martial arts together overseas for a long time- he stayed over there a lot longer than me finished the system and became very skilled. I was never good at it but I enjoyed it and got benefit from the practice.

We went different ways lost contact if there was any fault it was mine. Sad to hear that he passed on fairly young never imagined it could happen the man was very healthy and had no vices- drugs, drink, smoke nothing like that- a healthy living, trained high level martial arts fighter

Few years ago he passed on sudden..

On his death date a year ago- I lit a candle for him, in a old glass candle holder with a picture & some joss. That's a Pinoy / Chinese martial arts custom.

A few minutes after I put it up maybe 1/2 hour the candle holder shattered.

That kind of stuff can make you think..
