Hi all. I've been a member for several years, but haven't posted too much. I've recently picked up a few 7 shot L frames that I'd like to share with you all. I usually don't like sharing photos, but these 3 are pretty unique. I apologize about the poor photos.

First up is a Model 520:

Next up is a 686-5 3" with factory bead blasting:

If you don't mind me asking what did you have to pay for the 686-5 3"
I had one in my hands last week but backed off because a friend of mine was looking at it. End result neither of us got it. $450 and I had the money with me, DUMB.........

I paid $499 for it which I thought was a pretty good deal. Obviously, it didn't come with the combat grips. $450 was a good price I'd say. I've passed them up before and regretted it. Part of the reason I didn't pass up the 681 Performance Center today. I got it for $700, which was more than I wanted to spend today, but a good deal.

Very interesting. I had to look up the 520. That one seems awfully rare - appears to have only been made 2005-06.

Thanks guys. I've learned a ton from just hanging around here. I figured it was time I shared a few photos for the rest of the sick ones like myself.

Very nice. The one that interests me the most is the 520. I thought it would be the perfect platform to test the two piece barrel. Plus I like the high visibility sights. It would be interesting to put it in the Ransom Rest against my first year of production 581. By the time I was ready to give it a try, they had disappeared.

If you shoot it, please let us know your impressions.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I have a 681 but it don't compare to yours.

I too have that black & green 681. Just about the ugliest S&W I've ever owned. I actually thought about having it fine bead blasted but didn't want to spend any more on it. I'm trying to wear the colors off by carrying and shooting it. (smile)

I was thinking the 7 chambers would make up for the un-fluted cylinder but it sure seems heavier than my 6-shot L-frames that have cylinder flutes.

Very nice trio you have there. I picked up a new 586 plus a few years ago that just layed on the shelf for a long time and I got a very good deal on it. Enjoy those seven shooters!
