UPDATE!!! Does anybody shoot at 10:15 PM?

Hi! I've had an ongoing feud with my neighbor since 1996, we live in rural N/E Indiana 11 miles from town. The most recent incident was when the neighbor shot a round of birdshot over at our house with his O/U (his house is 500 ft away) when my husband and 2 of our young daughters were outside and birdshot rained down on them (they weren't hurt). We called the Sheriff and Deputy Fife talked to the neighbor. Neighbor told the Fife he was shooting at birds, not our house. Fife asked my husband if he saw neighbor do it, husband said no, but there are no other neighbors. Fife said there's nothing he can do. Husband told Fife about past incident where neighbor left JD tractor running from 10pm to 6am one night 35 feet from our bedroom (on his property), we called Sheriff and they said they couldn't do anything because neighbor was mad our dog was barking and there are no noise ordinances! Husband then asked Fife what would happen if we went out at 1am and started shooting our shotgun? Fife said he could ask us to quit, but if we said no they couldn't do anything because there is no noise ordinance!! It's the Twilight Zone here.

Now I definitely feel in a situation like this, the shooter should have called the neighbors just to let them know what was going on.

i always liked living in a place where i could shoot when i wanted to with out causing trouble, i hope one day to find this ! as for now ill just have to shoot in the day time,

I'm very lucky in that I share 102 acres in rural PA with my brother. I don't have anybody who lives near enough to me to hear shots loud enough to care about them. In fact I myself have shot at night to have some tracer round fun... but I informed both people who live the closest to me I'd be doing so. I came to find out neither of them heard a single shot.
