Had to take her to the ER at OU Med center early yesterday morning . They ran another Cat Scan and found that her bowels had been perforated and the cancer has spread to other organs . She had fever and a very high WBC count. They are trying to stop the infection but not too much chance. She is classed as terminal.
They are keeping her until Monday and are intending to transfer her to a very nice hospice facility close to our residence. This will allow me to be with her each day. That is her wish because she realizes that I am not able to provide the care that she will need.
She is one tough lady. Much tougher than I am.
Several people from our church have had family in this facility and are high in their praise for the care that they provide.
We thank everyone for their prayers and concerns and please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Sorry for the rambling post.

It's not rambling, Graydon. We want to know what's happening. I've been in your situation. Hospice care is wonderful for both patient and family. You and she remain in my prayers.

in the words on my generation ....
..... Aw dude .....
ramble all ya like sir.
As far as Im concerned, and Im sure many will agree, these things are grounds for a free ramble card.
theres just no other way to come to grips with it.

Sad news. Sometimes all we can do is provide comfort and care, and just be there for our loved ones. You and Dorothy are in my prayers.

There are times I can't find the words to help someone, and this is one of those times.
Rather, I'll just talk to God and ask that his mercy and love go to her and you.
May you both find peace.

Having a decent hospice nearby cannot be overrated. I hope your wife remains comfortable and that you are able to visit a much as you wish. I know how important this is.

Having lived through the loss of my wife just 5 years back, my heart go out to you. Not something I would wish on anybody and not an easy thing to have to deal with.

I will say an extra prayer tonight for you and your family!!

God speed!!

Prayers that her passing will be peaceful, and her last days meaningful.

Treasure your time and remember the best things about your lives together............Oh merciful God

Another vote to ramble as you wish. We will stand with you even from great distances. May God give you peace, comfort, and strength during this very difficult time.

My older sister Mary died in hospice the end of last Sept. I will
always treasure the time we had and that she was kept pain
free and comfortable. I wish your situation could be changed.
I am thinking of your wife, you and your family.

My prayers are with you and her as you both head toward another stage. Peace be with you both and keep that strength alive; you both need it. I will add my voice to those who emphasize that this is a place to share... I would guess none of us consider your post rambling, nor would we if it were much much longer. This is such a hard time that all we can do is send our prayers and thoughts your way and tangibly be a place where you can come on sleepless nights or long hard days. I would think that any one of us would be humbled and more than willing help ease your burden. Treasure these times because they're there but remember to constantly treasure especially prior time with her because that's the gold mine you have in your head.

Again strength, thoughts, and prayers to your entire family.
