UPS Ammo deliveries!

The posters critical of UPS, their drivers, and their procedures have absolutely NO clue what the Christmas delivery season is like. I do. I worked there for 34 years.

Maybe so. I'll plead guilty. Now, explain what the problem is in mid July when I answer the doorbell 1.75 seconds after it rings only to see the UPS truck already burning rubber halfway down the block while my freshly delivered cardboard box sits on the stoop in the pouring rain.

In CA the UPS drivers may think you a nut for getting a package marked ORM-D Small Arms Cartridges. In TX the driver may ask, did you get a deal and where did you buy from.

Wonder what our guy thought of this. They don't wrap it, ya know. :D

Yeah, I remember my driver staggering up the front walk with two of those some time back. I think he gave up my route, I seem to get new drivers all the time.

my ups driver asked me how I was getting 22 ammo when the gun shops he delivers to can't get any. I did not have any problems getting ups deliveries over the holidays ,some of my orders actually came early.

That's a pretty good question. Maybe they're not selling to FFLs because they make more $$$ off the retail buyers?

OTOH I've only just started seeing .22LR available for backorder again. It was "No Backorders" for a long time.

Cabelas has had 22 ammo for the last couple of months on line , and with the free shipping promo's the price has been in the 4-5 cents range.

Many acounts authorize "signature release" which means the driver should do just as yoou have described. Again. too many people have no idea of the intracate workings of the business.

I believe they are tracked now

My UPS driver enjoys delivering ammo. He thinks we all should have more.

In your driver's defense, they often don't think they have time to chat. They are given way too many packages to deliver in too little time.

I believe they are tracked with GPS now to make sure they don't take side trips or goof off.

I think the problem lies with too many people these days not understanding the intricacies of courtesy or common sense. Carboard melts in the rain. Either leave the package inside the screen door or allow me an extra 1.75 seconds to make it to the door to accept and thank you for the delivery. It's really not that hard.

Frankly, I'm amazed anyone has their packages at all when they get home. I really don't understand how they stay in business.
