I sent a contribution to the Ridgeland High School, "Guns in School" program on the 9th of March. As of the 28th it hasn't arrived.

What is the source of your information?

USPS claims "The Postal Service receives NO tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations."

It's a common misconception that "my tax dollars" support the USPS. They don't. The only tax money the postal service gets goes to cover costs for mailing voter materials to disabled and overseas Americans, many of whom are military.
Nixon reorganized the USPS in '71, and mailing costs (stamps) changed from a tax into "products".
I live on a rural delivery route and get mail in my box on my property. As I don't do ANY transactions involving money through the mail, all I get is junk mail. I once asked at the post office if I could eliminate my home mailbox, they told me no. If you own property in an area that receives home delivery, you MUST have a mailbox.

Living in a fairly large city USPS and drivers license facilities and unemployment office the service or lack there of is horrible, they act like they are doing me a favor. For lack of being banned forever I won't bring up the race issue, but after moving to a smaller town the service is very good, it takes longer to drive to these facilities than to get the task done.

I ship a lot of packages by USPS. the local post office where I go, the folks are great. always friendly and always helpful. Private industry would never agree to deliver a letter, anywhere that has a mail box, for 49 cents. Think about the magnitude of accomplishing that on a daily basis. And, yes, the postal service is supported primarily by the revenue they bring in.

once paid UPS to next day some event tickets to my sister inlaw. Tickets arrived two days after the event. Their response, sorry, tough, no refund.
