i heard that any ammo box that has the kids warning on it isnt considered "old" as a general rule. Can anyone verify this? When did the kids warnings first appear?

The Fed's mandated the child safety warning on ammo boxes in 1962.
Interesting. I would have thought it was much later than that. In '62 it was still fashionable for everyone, including pregnant moms to smoke, no one wore seat belts, and 2/3 of the population was dropping acid. Thank goodness Uncle Sugar was looking out for the kids!

While I do not consider myself a serious cartridge collector, if and when antique ammo crosses my path I usually scoff it up quickly. I've got several dozen examples of antique boxes and bricks of vintage .22 ammo and center fire stuff too. Love to take it out and look at it from time to time.
